Welcome! Welcome to a new term and a new school year. We look forward to working with all of you. Sports Day Unfortunately due to the heavy rain this week the field is very muddy and sports day will not go ahead. Uniform It is good to see most children in proper school colours but it would be better if it were everyone. School jumpers should be bottle green only and not black or grey which seems to have crept in amongst the girls. Our new supplier is currently working on an embroidered logo for us (at no extra cost). Full details about ordering uniform will be sent out next week. Dates for the year A comprehensive list of dates will be sent out separately next week. Please keep this safe. Parent Panels Would you be interested in being on our Parent Panel? This would involve occasional meetings and/ or email contact as a means of consulting on a variety of issues such as revising our Home School Agreement and policy documents. Please let the office know if this is something you could help with. Your input is really valued. Facebook We now have an Oakdale Junior School Facebook page. Staff News We are pleased to welcome Mrs Clare Dibble and Miss Lauren Newman who are both embarking on their teacher training with us. Mrs Dibble is in Y3 and Miss Newman is in Y5. PTA News The first event of the year is the Quiz Night on Friday 7th October at 7pm. The AGM will also be held on this evening. Childrens Centre Look out for details of courses and events being run by our Centre managers Mrs Beacon and Mrs James. This is your Childrens Centre so please make use of it. Contact the Centre via the school office. Drop in sessions also available. Staff Vacancies Midday Assistant We have a vacancy for a Midday Assistant to support pupils at lunchtime 5 days per week 12 1.30pm, term time only. The hourly rate is 7.89ph. The successful candidate will become a member of an important team of people responsible for the health and well being of our children throughout the lunchtime period. We are looking for someone who can work well within a team and can also use their own initiative in implementing the schools policies and procedures. Cleaner We have a vacancy for a cleaner to work 6.30am 9am 5 days per week 52 weeks of the year. The hourly rate is 7.89ph. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the School Caretaker as part of an established team of cleaners.

Cub Scout places available at the 17th Epping Forest South to start in the autumn term at Holy Trinity Church, Hermon Hill. Mondays 6.15pm to 7.45pm term time only for children from 7 to 9 years.
