I. Getting started: Matching

 Ex. 1: What would you do in these situations which
requires first –aid?
1. A girl has a burn on her arm.
 I’d use cold water or ice to cool
the burn.
2. A boy has a bad cut on his leg.
I’d clean the cut with alcohol.
Then I’d use a bandage to cover the
wound. If the cut is really bad, I will take
him to the nearest clinic.
3. A girl has a nose bleed.
 I’d try to stop her nose bleeding by
raising her head back and use the cotton
balls or handkerchief for some minutes.
4. A boy has a bee sting.
I’d wash the sting with alcohol. Then
rub some medicated oil on the sting.
 II. Listen & Read

2. a wound = a paint: vết thương
3. a burn: (vết,chỗ) bỏng
4. (to) bleed – bled/ bled: chảy máu
5. conscious (adj.) ≠ unconscious (adj.):

7. an emergency: (ca) cấp cứu
8. a bee sting: vết ong đốt
 Ex. 2: Answer the questions after listening to the
conversation about an emergency.
a. Who are talking on the phone?
 A girl is talking to a nurse on the phone.
b. Where are they?
The nurse is at Bach Mai Hospital and the girl is
at Quang Trung School.

c. What happened ? Why?

A student is hurt because she fell off her bike and
hit her head on the road.
d. Where is the school?
It’s Ngo Si Lien Lane. It’s between Quang Trung
Street and Tran Hung Dao Street.

school.
Ex. 6: Role – play “ One of you is a nurse. Other is
a person who sees an injured person. Make a dialogue
between you and a nurse.
