Milwaukee, WI: Southeastern Wisconsin Watersheds Trust announces a partnership with UWExtension, and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to publish a quarterly newsletter, the RiversReport, highlighting projects, organizations, municipalities, and individuals advancing water quality, water resource protection, and habitat restoration in the Greater Milwaukee Watersheds. Many diverse organizations and groups within the 1,100 square miles of the Greater Milwaukee Watersheds are working on water quality, protection and restoration of the rivers of Southeastern Wisconsin.. The aim of the RiversReport is to acknowledge, report, and celebrate this work as well as to build awareness and engagement for these efforts throughout the region. Gail Epping Overholt, UW-Extension Basin Educator commented, Due to the cooperative nature of all our organizations and the complementary work being done, it was an easy decision to marry the outreach efforts under one publication the RiversReport. It makes more sense to have our audiences reach for one news outlet, rather than two especially since our efforts and goals are seamlessly linked. Individuals interested in submitting an article about a project or suggestions for articles should send their inquiries to Kate Morgan, Sweet Water Communications Coordinator, at kmorgan@1kfriends.org. The RiversReport is online at Sweet Waters website at www.swwtwater.org and at UW-Extensions website at http://basineducation.uwex.edu/milwaukee/news/index.html. Sweet Water, a nonprofit organization created in 2008, is a partnership of local governments, nonprofit organizations, businesses, academia, and individuals working collectively to improve the water resources in the 1,100 square miles of Greater Milwaukee Watersheds.
