the study.

females) drawn from the third grade of secondary schools students in the Holy City of Makah.

3- The scale of vocational competence belief (prepared by the researcher).
Statistical Analysis: The researcher used an number of statistical tests to analyze the data. These
involved Pearson Correlation Coefficient Test, Frequencies and Percentages, the T-Test, the ANOVA,
and the Scheffe Test.
Findings of study :
1-

There is a statistically significant positive relation between the functions of exploration,

vocational crystallization, the sense of the vocational commitment and the degree of vocational
competence beliefs.

2-

The degree of exploration, vocational crystallization, the sense of vocational commitment and
vocational competence beliefs were all found ranking medium for all members of the sample
males and females alike.

Students with respect to the degree of vocational exploration, crystallization , the sense of
vocational commitment and vocational competence beliefs in favor of female subjects.

4-

There are no statistically significant differences between Secondary School Students in the degree
of exploration, vocational crystallization , sense of vocational commitment and vocational
competence belief according to specialization (Art or Science).

5-

There are statistically significant differences between third grade Secondary School Students in
their level of exploration, vocational crystallization , sense of vocational commitment and
vocational competence beliefs according to the age variable.
Recommendations of Study:

1- It is important to design and execute educational counseling programs at the local level which
aim at improving the level of exploration, crystallization and vocational commitment for secondary
school students irrespective of their specialization as science or art students . This is likely to achieve
compatibility between education output and the labor market requirements and it will also help to raise
the level of the general vocational and academic competence beliefs
among students. .
2- It is important to provide students with sufficient information which helps them to develop
abilities of vocational exploration, vocational crystallization, vocational commitment and raise their
vocational competence beliefs .
3- Decision makers should do their best to achieve some form of economic balance between
different careers and they should try to improve the social status of certain jobs. This will save career
selection decision from negative social influences.
