Derive an expression for the force on a current carrying conductor placed in a magnetic field. Two coils with self and mutual inductances of 4 and L 2 are connected in series. The net inductance in series aiding is found to be 16 H and in series opposition is found to be 10 H. of the co-efficient of coupling between the two coils is found to be 0.6. Calculate self and mutual inductances What is resonance derive an expression for resonant frequency, bandwidth and quality factor of a series R-L-C circuit. Derive an expression for the EMF equation of a dc generator. Explain the load characteristics of dc series and dc shunt generators. A 240V,dc shunt motor takes 32 A of line current of the armature and field resistances are 1.2 and 240 respectively of the load torque remains constant, find the resistance inserted in series with the armature to have the speed. A 1- transformer has 500 primary and 100 secondary terms. The net cross-sectional area of the core is 50 cm2. if the primary winding is connected to a 50 H 2 supply at 400V. Calculate (i) Peak value of the flux density in the core (ii) The voltage induced in the secondary winding. What is regulation? Derive an expression for the approximate voltage regulation. With neat pharos diagrams explain the production of RMF in a 3-phase induction motor. A 3-phase, 6 pole, 50 Hz induction motor has a slip of 1% at no-load and 3% at full load.
