July 3, 2012 Hello Team: It has come to my attention that many of you had to stay late for a number

of reasons during our first week of the program. The BELL team appreciates your commitment to the scholars and the quality of programming. As we approach the second week of program, I want to clarify what are the expected and approved number of hours on site each day. Program Coordinator 8:30-3:30 (Monday through Friday) 7 hours per day for a total of 35 hours each week paid at the hourly rate listed in your offer letter. Please note that program coordinators are not expected to work more than 35 hours per week; any exceptions must have prior approval from your supervisor. Lead Teacher 8:15-3:15 (Monday- Friday) 7 hours per day for a total of 35 hours each week paid at the hourly rate listed in your offer letter. This time includes your lunch period. Please note that program coordinators are not expected to work more than 35 hours per week; any exceptions must have prior approval from your supervisor. Academic Teacher 8:15-12:15 (Monday- Friday) Total of 20 hours per week is expected and approved. Additional hours must have pre-approval from your supervisor. Enrichment Teacher 12:00-3:15 (Monday- Thursday); 8am-3pm Friday Total of 20h per week is expected and approved. Additional hours must have pre-approval from your supervisor. Teacher Assistants 8:15-3:15 (Monday-Friday) 35 hours per week are expected and approved. This time includes your lunch period. Dual Role Teachers 7:30am - 3pm (Monday Friday) Dual role teachers play the role of both academic and enrichment teachers. They are allotted 1h per morning to perform planning for a total of 7.5h per day, which includes your lunch period. This reflects a 30min increase from the 7h per day which was included in dual role teacher offer letters. I hope this will clear up any confusion on the hours for each member of your leadership team and staff. BELL will accommodate all hours worked and reported for the first week of programming. Moving forward, pre-approval from your supervisor will be required for hours worked outside of the scheduled time. Thank you for your understanding. Our scholars are our success, and your efforts are vital to maintain quality programming. Sincerely, Annie Fleming-Weaver Director of Field Operations - Winston-Salem cc: Cheryl Wright, Lead Teacher for Summer Afterschool Programs, WinstonSalem / Forsyth County Schools
