The Lion's Roar

Alpha Omega Academy December 2012

Carolines Corner
PTF President Wow! What an amazing year! Volleyball, football, and drama all represented AOA at State. The Lord continues to bless AOA with students who push their limits, and teachers, parents, and staff who give so willingly of their time. I visited with a fellow AOA mom this week about our school. The more involved we get, the more our eyes are opened to the dedication behind making our school run so smoothly. Have you ever thought about the people who open the school for the early risers and close the school after a late game? Run the scoreboard? Send out the calls about the lastminute changes & cancellations? Clean the boys locker room? Take the children to field trips & away games? All of these people have one thing in common: they are servants. This time of year the world remembers the greatest servant ever, Christ. "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Matthew 20:28 Opportunities to serve abound, and we would enjoy serving with you. Merry Christmas! In His Name, Caroline Oleinik

A Big Thank You

The AOA teachers and staff members would like to express their gratitude to all of the parents that brought items to the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon last month. Thank you to all of the parents that helped as Lunch Room monitors so that all of the teachers could attend. They enjoyed the great food and fellowship with one another.

Restaurant Night
Thank you to McKenzies Barbeque and all the families who participated in our Restaurant Night in November. McKenzies donated $250 to AOA!

Blessing Tree
Be a Blessing to someone this holiday season. Partnering with SAAFE House, AOA families can help those in need through The Blessing Tree. There are stars and angels hanging on the tree. The stars list necessary items needed while the angels list are children's toys. There are about 90 stars and angels on the tree. The tree is set up in the conference room, near the library. Parents who would like to help can select a star or angel and write their name down on the list by the tree. Purchase the item listed, wrap it, tape the angel/star to the item, and put it under the tree. SAAFE House will come and pick up the items and deliver them to those in need! The last th date to turn in items is Monday, December 17 .
