The On the Job Training nurture students in improving capacity of a choosen field.

It enhance our knowledge doing particular works and to develop our inter personal relationship towards different people that been encountered. Our school scheduled our practicum that been started last October 15, 2012. In the life of being a college student, it always required an OJT/ practicum, wherein this practicum is needed for all graduating students. In our school at Visayas Christian Institute of Technology Abuyog, Leyte we need to comply the 180 hours in the office where we are assigned. OJT day is an awaited day for us as a student, weve been excited to faced new challenges that we may encounter in our OJT life. We can experience so many first time in our daily life. In our first day of OJT, weve been so excited, curious and some bit nervous for what were going to do at the office. We woke-up early at that exact dates then we take our breakfast, after that we prepare ourselves of going to Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) office. When were already there at the office we look for Mr. Arnel Malate the Human Resource Manager of the DOLE RO8 and we finally meet him. He entertained us, he told us that he will give our punch card that will serve as our attendance. Then after that we attend the flag raising ceremony and the Monday program. There are representative from every offices to attend the Monday program from OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration), RTWPB (Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board), NLRC (National Labor Relation Commission), POEA (Philippine Overseas and Employment Administration), TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) and NCMB (National Conciliation and Mediation Board) and some divisions at DOLE building from TSSD, IMSD and all FOs (Field Offices). All of those offices and divisions were going to report there weekly activities, there achievements, incoming activities and there plan. The last speaker of that program is the OIC- Regional Director Hon. Exequiel R. Sarcauga. The said program will consume for not less than two hours. When the Monday program was done, we have our orientation with Mr. Arnel Malate, and he assigned us in different divisions or department. He introduced us to our division head being assigned to us that we are an OJT from VCIT Abuyog. Then the division head entertain us

and introduced to her covered employees. Afterwards she offers a table for us that if we have nothing to do, we can stay there. While waiting them to command us, I and Ms. Lolina sharing of what we feel at that time. The time goes on and were getting to know others behavior. On the third day of our OJT, Ms. Shirley introduced us there OIC-Regional Director no other than Hon. Exequiel R. Sarcauga. During our first week we feel some boredom, its because we just have litle works to be done in the office. In the following weeks when we continue our OJT, we were happy and we enjoy our work., especially when we become closed to some OJTs practicumers there from Datamex Institute of Computer Technology and also some employees been vibes. Some of the office works we learn were doing fax, to use the type writer machine, to address a letters and also the phone etiquette. One day our co-trainees/ practicumers shared us, that we are so lucky, because we were assigned downstairs and not upstairs. They said that some employees upstairs were only looking for there mistakes and not for what they done. When they were sitting and no work to do, some employees gossip them. That time we shared all of the happenings and feelings weve done at the office. Weve been emotional at that time. Mrs. Bernardita M. Navarra one of supervisor at TSSD calls me and asks to Mrs. Flordelis Geonzon (TSSD Head) that I will be her assistant starting October 22- November 8, 2012, because we will be busy and more works to do, then Mrs. Geonzon agreed with that. Im the one who make there program, send the invitation to all invited schools, offices and all FOs, I also prepared those certificate to be given in the day of activity.Mrs. Navarra told me that I and Lovely will join them to the called activity. When I shared it to Ms. Lolina were both happy with it. November 9. 2012 was the 1st Regional Career and Employment Advocacy Congress to be held at Ritz Tower de Leyte Tacloban City, and we were invited in that called activity/ program. We go to office as early of 7:30am to time-in. after we time-in we go to our division and wait for the call of Mrs. Navarra or wait if who will pick-up us. We receive a phone call from Mrs. Navarra and she said that we must ride in a utility vehicle. We are badtrip when we heared that, because we expected that they will pick-up us as they said last day and we didnt know that place. But we dont have a choice but to go there; when we get inside of the Ritz Tower de Leyte we were surprised because of the beautiful view. We are the usherette in that day. At 10:00am the cater distributed snacks to the attendees and facilitators. But during that

time I am with there office driver and we got the PLAQUE. After taking our snack we are called to go in the office to xerox some papers. There are 9 pages given to us by Mrs. Navarra to xerox 150 copies each. When were at the office we look for the maintenance to Riso those papers. When we were on going to process those papers, there were personnel that give us additional papers to xerox again and again, to the point that we didnt eat our lunch just to make sure that we can finished our work. While the maintenance doing Riso we were sorting those papers done. We were so hungry that day, it is already 5:00pm but still were not done. We decided to out early so that we can eat our lunch at the boarding. When we saw Mr. Demie Uyvico, we told him that were going with him, because we will get our bag at Ritz Tower. We go home and eat our lunch, and then we relax because we were so tired. In the following days we received so many appreciations from different employees. We were so proud of ourselves for all the appreciations we received from them. They say that, ever since that they accept OJTs we were the very first time who always wear complete uniform. Always going to the office early, then they also told us that we were that kind of student who learned easily, we can easily get there point as they command us. And were very proud of that.
