INTRODUCTION
The main inspiration was the increasing number of boat accidents. This project is aimed at preventing accidents as far as possible

OVERLOAD DETECTOR
The number of persons entering and leaving the boat is monitored using IR counter If the count increases beyond the set limit then turning on of engine is disabled

TILT BALANCING SYSTEM

An accelerometer uses the force of gravity as an input vector to determine the orientation of an object in space

The balancing system consists of a water tank and a pump The windshield washer pump is activated by PIC when unbalance is detected. It sucks stored water from the plastic reservoir into the pump

BATTERY AND FUEL LEVEL DETECTOR

Battery voltage level is checked using the inbuilt ADC Fuel level detector works with the help of potentiometer Alert is given to both control station and crew if the fuel level is critically low

Read the potentiometer output and store the value in the variable fuel

TRACKING SYSTEM
GPS receiver is used to calculate 2D position and track movement. The basis of GPS is "triangulation" from satellites. Three satellites are used to solve for position A GPS receiver calculates its position by precisely timing the signals sent by GPS satellites high above the Earth

This is used to check the crossing of sea boundaries Control station is updated about the current location as well as crossing of sea boundaries

STATUS UPDATING SYSTEM

The Status Updating System is implemented using GSM The control station receives continous updates about the current location, battery voltage level and fuel level every one minute Alert message is sent to the control station when either the fuel is low or when the vessel has crossed sea boundary

A GSM modem is a specialized type of modem which accepts a SIM card, and operates over a subscription to a mobile operator AT commands are instructions used to control a modem The IC MAX 232 is used in order to interface GSM module with the micro-controller.

FUTURE EXPANSION
Underwater obstacles can be detected using SONAR. Satellite phones can be made use of instead of GSM. Control station can be expanded and made similar to a Air Traffic Control Station.

CONCLUSION
Location specification technique, battery voltage and fuel level monitoring can be implemented in other vehicles The main advantage is in the prevention of accidents in water transport system. Tracking of boats and in the event of an accident immediate rescue operation can be initialized.
