4. It only seems logical to.
me that each of our grade
schools should have their own
PTA organization, each
independently for their own re-
spective school and children
and the needs thereof .
5. The money currently in
the treasury could be di v-
ided. The $1.00 paid by the
Eagle River parents going to
the Eagle River PT;l and the re
.naining staying in 'the Chugiak
PT;, treasury. This shbuld be
than fair. The Eagle Riv

small, but we're a

junt starting, and

Fund raising projects could be

are the type things which tte
can cooperate on and with each

are bound to have a larger,

I
Dear fiartha,
Some very dear friends
of ours aslted our advice
on a very personal matter,
when we told them our op-
inion they did not agree
with us, and finally we
all decided to tell you
their plans and see what
you advise.
This arc plan-
to adopt a child. The
baby has not been born yet,
but all arrangements have
been made. .:hat they are
planning to do i::; tp Hrite
to their families in the
states and tell them that
they are ex) ecting a child
and then pass this baby off
as their natural child.
Ily husband and I advised
them not to do t hi s, as we
felt that if their families
should ever Iearn the truth
it might make for a bad sit-
uation.
They do not feel that any-
one could possibly ever tell
their families the truth, as
they are a military couple,
and never expect to return
here, or that anyone l'lho
might lmOI'I about the ad-

option \iould ever meet
any of their folks.
,,'hat \'lould you advise
them?
:fATTING FOR AN ,\NS'.JER
Dear :!aiting,
I am afraid that I could
never a9vise anyone to at-
tempt such a deception.
The effect the truth migh
have on their :family \iOuld
be to what pit
might do to the child if
he should learn of it in
later years.
Such matters are difficul
to keep secret. ,,nyone
who is in the mil1tary and
has been transferred ar-

old acquaintances keep
turni"ng up, even a fter

years. ,. ,
Tell the truth, there
noting to be ashamed about
an adoption. If your ft'-
iends feel that adoption
is something disgraceful,
perhaps they should recon-
sider the matter.
.Sincerely,
l>lactha Co unci 1
