0 INTRODUCTION
On 24 August 2014, my group English and I took a field trip to the Petrosains, KLCC, Kuala
Lumpur to get new knowledge about science and technology. We start our jouney at 10
oclock in the morning by taking KTM UKM train to KL Central for RM3.30 for each
person. It takes 40 minute to arrive at KL Central. After arriving at KL Central we take a
LRT to KLCC for RM1.20 each person. Petrosains charged RM15 each person for adults to
enter the centre. Petrosains is housed in the world's twin towers, the PETRONAS Twin
Towers, Kuala Lumpur. Occupying level 4 and 5 of both Tower 1 and Tower 2 of the Twin
Towers, Petrosains covers a total exhibit area of more than 7,000 square meters. Entrance to
Petrosains is through Level 4 of the Suria KLCC mall. The mall is accessible via various
modes of public transportation.
Petrosains is a Science Discovery Centre that uses a fun and interactive approach to tell the
story of the science and technology of the petroleum industry. Its concept and contents
revolve specifically around the science of petroleum, yet embrace all the general sciences.
The hands-on approach adopted by Petrosains puts an emphasis on the fun and excitement of
learning rather than on the rigorous memorisation of scientific facts.

2.0 OBJECTIVE
The objectives of a field trip to Petrosains are:
1. Understanding the function of science equipment.
2. Gaining knowledge about Malaysian Government in petroleum industry
3. Gaining knowledge about the process of science technology from past to modern

3.0 SUMMARY
A) First, after purchasing our entrance ticket we queue up to take the Dark Ride. The kids are
encouraged to touch and play with for a hands-on learning experience. Next, we go to Teater
Ungku Omar. Teater Ungku Omar is a mini theatre, capable of seating 32 people, and you
get to watch 3D movies here.We ended our field trip by Exit Ride. The Exit Ride is a parting
journey on the Dark Ride where aspirations and hopes of proud Malaysians are captured in a
fascinating audio visual display. The ride ends underneath a star-studded sky.
B) Once we go in the Petrosains, we had been divided each person of the group with different
tasks. We are doing our tasks with teamwork. Every problem that our members happen we
try to solved together.
C) Every items or materials that had there have their own facts and information. This is very
useful to enhance our knowledge and experience.
D) I had no idea how big dinosaur actually were sing a Malay song. For us the song is very
funny and joyful. Actually we are enjoyed the song even we not fully understand what the
dinosaur sing.

Petrosains is an information centre that is filled with various aspects of science discovery. I
am a liberal arts major. This simply means that anything which is science or technology will
make me yawn one thousand and one times before I understand an iota of the concept of it.
However, at the KLCC, science and technology is presented in an interactive, story like
format that makes it interesting and easy to understand. Science is the study of nature and
Petrosains amazingly incorporates all the elements of nature in its educational program.
There is a science discovery centre in Kuala Lumpur called the Science Discovery Centre.
This Science Discovery Centre is located at a place called the level four of the suria KLCC.
The age of dinosaurs passed a million years ago. Several people believe that dinosaurs are
myths. However, at the KLCC and Science Discovery Center you might just be convinced
that dinosaurs actually existed. If you are convinced, then you might also appreciate how
human activities have changed since the discovery of fuel several years ago. There are five
basic senses of a human being, and this Science Discovery Centre since it is interactive will
put to use all these senses.
Various interactive exhibits are used at the Petrosains center to make participants fully
understand what is going on in the science and technology world. I found out that various
activities at the Petrosains Centre could entertain me for several hours. First of all, the
Geotime Diorama is capable of taking one back to over two hundred million years ago when
dinosaurs ruled the world. I am not always an optimist, thats why I find difficult to accept
that dinosaurs really existed. When we were young, whenever earthquakes occurred, we
would say that God was so annoyed in heaven that he got off his feet to stomp them down
just to show the angels who was in charge. However, as I grew up I learnt that earthquakes
are caused by certain tectonic movements on the earths surface. In Petrosains this concept
was so vividly explained that I felt like tipping the presenter.
The Molecule Nano World took me on a trip to the world where molecules, polymers and
atoms rule. I discovered that there are various things that our naked eyes cannot perceive.
These discoveries make learning science at the Science Discovery Centre fun.
When I got onto the Dark Ride I wished I had taken my family with me. It was a marvelous
experience that has mesmerized me to date. It is only in Kuala Lumpur that an oil platform
together with a helicopter flight simulator will make you enjoy a simulated ride through a
storm. Just as in a normal helicopter ride, you will have to fasten your seatbelt for safety as
well as for comfort.
We learned that about how the science technology work out and gaining knowledge about the
function of raw material in our daily life.
