Brutal... but still fun

The weather wasnt cooperative for the 2nd

Annual Tri Fort Peck Triathlon this past Saturday,
but the show went on and everyone who crossed
the finish line had smiles on their faces. Pictured
above is youth winner Caleb Osborn leaning into
40 mph winds while getting pelted with misty rains.
At right is the winning team (Team Funk!): Brett
Clampitt rode bike, Taylor Johnson did the swim
and Levi Clampitt did the running. Individually
for the men, Daniel Emtman covered the entire
course (swim, bike run) with a time of 1:34:34.2.
Individually for the women, Irene Whitmer came
across the line in 1:34:45.4. Said Brett Clampitt
of the bike ride: Going with the wind was just
fine. Going against it I felt like Mary Poppins!

Red & White

Scotty junior Benji Phillips evades an attempted

tackle by Scotty senior Ethan Etchart this past
Saturday night in the annual Red & White game.
If a score was kept, it was 12-all tie as each
team scored twice. No extra-point attempts were
taken. This is the first time in a few years that
either team has scored. At left, Trent Herbert
takes the first snap of the game. The Scotties
open the regular season at home with Colstrip
on Saturday, August 29th with kick-off at 6:00.
Note that it is at 6:00, not the usual 7:00 kick-off.

Tri Fort Peck!

Nearly 50 participants
from as far as Williston
came to participate in the
Tri Fort Peck Triathlon.
Headquartered at the
First Dredge Cuts near
Fort Peck,
it was a
huge success despite
the weather. Highs in
the 40s throughout the
event wasnt so bad; it
was those 40 mph winds
that made the going
tough whether it was
in the water (check out
the waves in the Dredge
Cuts below) or trying
to run or pedal into it.
Below, Marj Markle
is all smiles as she
successfully crosses the
finish line.
