Balanga, Ibaan, Batangas - Buhat sa malaking banga na pinaglalagyan ng tubig na inumin ng mga magsasaka; o malaking uri ng tipaklong na tinawag na Balang na natagpuan sa dakong iyon noong unang panahon. 3. Brgy. Catandala, Ibaan, Batangas Buhat sa "Katang", isang uri ng maliit na alimasag at "Dala" ng isang malaing lambat na panghuli ng isda. Ang barangay na ito ay nasa tabi ng malaking ilog. 4. Brgy. Munting-Tubig, Ibaan, Batangas Isang barangay na dinadaanan ng isang maliit na sa magkabilang gilid. Mula dito, tinawag na Munting Tubig ang nasabing barangay. 5. Bais, Negros Oriental - Sinasabing ang pangalan ng Lungsod Bais ay hinango sa mga igat na kung tawagin ng mga naninirhan dito ay bais , na makikita sa Ilog Pelarta, at may nagsasabing tinawag itong Bais dahil sa dalawang look na matatagpuan sa lungsod. 6. *Calamba, Rizal Ang babae, na nagsasalita lamang ang kanyang sariling wika, sa pag-aakalang siya ay tinatanong kung ano ang kanyang dala-dala ay sumagot ng "kalanbanga", na ang ibig sabihin ay "luwad na kalan" (kalan) at "banga ng tubig" (banga). According to one legend, the long and narrow delta extended unbroken from north to south along the seashore. The strip of land between the former district of Tondo, Manila and this town was eaten away by the sea until an opening was made. Water began to
flow through the opening. The
geographical change prompted the people to refer to the place as "butas", "nayon ng butas",or "nabutas",a Tagalog word that means breached or pierced through. What began as a natural channel developed into a regular waterway, now known as the Navotas River. In later years, the place came to be known as "Nabotas", then "Navotas". 11.*Baybay, Leyte - Nang ang Kastilang mananakop ay nagkalat sa iba't-ibang bahagi ng lalawigan, ang ekspedisyung pinangungunahan ni Felipe Segundo, na naghahanap ng malaking tahanan, ay napadpad sa isang baryo sa hilaga ng bayan na ngayon ay Pangasugan. One such story stated that long ago, at the mouth of what is now known as the Paraaque River, there stood a balete tree that, when viewed from afar, looked like a majestic ship. This earned it the name Palanyag, taken from the term "palayag", which means point of navigation. 13.*Tanauan, Batangas - Some people believe that Tanauan derived its name from the Tagalog term tanaw, meaning to look after through the window. This is based on a fortress which had a watchtower built by the Augustinian friars and natives. The watchtower allowed them to monitor incoming champans or boats entering through the Pansipit river, which were either traders or pirates. From this tower, one can have a clear view (tanaw) of the lake and of the vast plains and rolling hills. 14.Vigan, Ilocos Sur - isang teorya ay nagmula ito sa Hokkien word na "Bee

shore. 15.Albuera, Leyte - A Spanish priest on board saw in the many beautiful lakes and the numerous springs a similarity with the town in his own native province of Galicia, Spain. The Spanish town which was named "Albujera" - which means "fresh water lake" - - was noted for the healthful springs and cool lagoons. The Spanish priest lost no time in naming the town after his own municipality and the name "Albujera" or "Albuhera" was popularly adopted by the people of the town. 16.Liloan, Cebu - Along its coastline, there is spot called Silot, where a whirlpool is created by the ebbs and flows of the waters from the bay. This phenomenon is called lilo in Cebuano. Because of this, the town was known as Liloan, meaning "a place where there is a lilo" 17.Bambang, Taguig - ang nayon ay tinatawag na Bambang sapagkat ito ay nasa pampang ng Ilog Taguig na dinadaluyan ng tubig buhat sa Laguna de Bay. 18.Dasmarinas, Cavite - Dasmarias literally means "from As Marias" (coastal region of Lugo combining the comarcas of A Maria Occidental, A Maria Central and A Maria Oriental), coming itself from mario ("of the coast, seaside or shore" in the Galician language, the native tongue from Viveiro Galicia, Spain), and this from mar ("sea") 19.Ilog, Negros Occidental - The name Ilog (or Ylog, Tagalog for "river") was recommended by a Tagalog guide of the Spaniards because the place was entirely surrounded by the longest river on the whole Negros Island, the Ilog Hilabangan River. 20.*Los Banos, Laguna - By 1589, through a Franciscan friar, it became popularly called by its present name, "Los Baos," which is Spanish for "bathing place." 21.Lubao, Pampanga - The name Lubao was derived from the indigenous word lubo which means low. Lubo is characteristically muddy and flooded; later, the term evolved into lubao, which is the towns present name. 22.Munting Ilog, Silang, Cavite - Mayroon namang barangay na ang kahalagahan ng tubig sa buhay ng mga taga-Silangang nagsilbing batayan. "Rio Pequeo" sa kastila at ang mga agos nito ay humahangga sa Lawang Laguna.

barangay na ang kahalagahan ng tubig sa buhay ng mga taga-Silangang nagsilbing batayan. "Rio Grande" sa kastila at ang mga agos nito ay humahangga din sa Lawang Laguna. 24.Aklan - Galing sa salitang "akean" na ang ibig sabihin ay "kung saan may bula". Tumutukoy ito sa daloy ng tubig ng Ilog Aklan. 25.Pamarawan, Malolos, Bulacan - The natives of Batang, Pampanga called PARAW. Time quickly passed by and the houses and families grew bigger and bigger. Even those coming from other places established their residence in the barrio, even the Kapampangans.
