REHIYON XI

REHIYON NG DAVAO

 Ito ay kilala sa likas na kayamanan ay binubuo ng apat na lalawigan:

CAMPOSTELA VALLEY,
DAVAO DEL NORTE AT
DAVAO ORIENTAL.
 Marami sa mga
naninirahan dito’y mga
Cebuano, Tagalog,
Ilokano at Ilonggo kaya’t
mga Kristiyano na.
Nananatili pa rin sa
rehiyon ang mga
katutubo tulad ng
Bagobo, Mandayas,
Mansaka at Bilaan.
 Natatangi rito ay ang
“Tuwaang” ng mga
Bagobo. Karaniwan
nilang binibigkas ito sa
mga kasalan, lamayan, taniman at iba pang pagdiriwang.
 Dawot- Natatanging awitin ng mga Mandaya.
 Atingan- Awit ng mga Bagobosa lalawigan ng Davao bilang awit na panghehele
o pag-ibig. Sa mga Mandaya- Mansaka tinatawag itong “Tud-um”.
 Oppad- Isang mahabang awitin na ang ipinapahahayag ay ayon sa karanasan
ng tao lalo na kung kabayanihan.
 Tinalak- Kahusayan sa pagtatali at paghuhukay ng abaka.
 Tangongo- Katutubong sayaw. Sayaw ng mga may edad na at ng mga mag-
asawa.
 Baliti at Kamarag- Uri ng sayaw na ang mga sumasayaw ay sabay sa galaw ng
dahon ng baliti.
 Sampak- Sayaw ng mga lalaking nag-aaway.
 Bolangbolang- Isang uri ng tambol na ginagamit ng mga babae.
 Diwagay- Sinaunang biyulin mula sa Bilan.
 Teu- Instrumentong hinihipan ng mga T’Boli.

MGA PANINIWALA AT KAUGALIAN

1. Ang mga Mansaka sa pagbubuklod ng kanilang pamilya ay gumagamit ng iba’t
ibang katawagan tulad ng: Ama, anakun para sa “niece/ nephew”; Ina, arrayon
 para sa “parents/relative”; babo para sa “aunt”, Igagaw para sa “cousin”; Bana
para sa “husband”; kimod para sa bunsog anak; bayaw at hipag para sa “sister in
law”.
Sa pag-aasawa naman ay may bersyon din sila ng pamanhikan ng mga
Tagalog.

May apat na bahagi ang kasal o pnunuyo para sa kanila:

UNA- PASAKAYOD- Sa bahaging ito ay binibisita ng mga magulang ng lalake ang

babaing mapapangasawa ng kanilang anak upang makilala.

IKALAWA- PAMUKU- Muling magkikita ang pamilya ng magkabilang panig para pag-
usapan ang halaga ng dote.

IKATLO- PAGTAWAN- Ang lalake ay maninilbihan na sa mga magulang ng babae.

IKAAPAT- KASAMONGAN- Magpapasya na ang mga magulang tungkol sa kasal. Kung

payag na ang magkabilang panig, itatakda na ang araw ng kasal at paghahandaan ito.

COMPOSTELA VALLEY

 Isa ito sa pinakabagong lalawigan ng Pilipinas.

 Sa buong taon ang Compostela ay di dinadalaw ng anumang bagyo bagamat
nakararanas din ito ng pagpatak ng ulan/tag-ulan.
 Ito ay naging isang “MELTING POT OF MIGRANTS” tulad ng mga Tagalog at
Bisaya.

DAVAO DEL NORTE

 Itinuturing itong lugar o mina ng mga saging.
 Kilala bilang “Green Gold Country” dahil sa malawak na taniman ng saging at
gayundin mayaman ito sa ginto.
 Ang kanilang kasuotan ay mahabang manggas na damit para sa lalaki at
malong(colorful tube skirt) para sa mga babae.

DAVAO DEL SUR

o Ang lupa ng Davao del Sur ay agricultural at ang produkto ay bigas, mais, niyog,
saging, tubo, kape, kakaw, durian, manga at lanzones.
o Mayaman din ang lugar na ito sa “Fish Product”, mineral tulad ng ginto, tanso,
lead copper at chromium.
o Nakatutuwang tandaan na ang “Kadayawan Festival of Davao” na ginaganap
tuwing ikatlong lingo ng Agosto ay salamin/ kababakasan ng mayamang kultura
ng lalawigan.

Ang bulong na ito ay inuusal ng mga Bagobo ng Mindanao kung nagnanakawan
sila ng bigas.

MGA MANUNULAT NG REHIYON XI

1. JOSE ANGLIONGTO- Siya ay sumulat ng nobelang “The Sultenate” na handog

niya sa mga “Young overseas Chinese”. Naging kolumnista siya ng Mindanao
Times at naging tagapamahala ng Mindanao Publisher Inc.
2. Josephine Malay Dischoso- Naging isa sa mga manunulat ng UP Summer
Writers Workshop noong 1974. Kilala siya sa larangan ng panitikan at sa
larangan ng pagpipinta.
3. PEPITO DEIPARINE- Isa siya sa mga kinikilalang manunulat ng rehiyong ito.
Kilala siya sa palayaw na Peps. Kilala siya bilang isang “Bi-lingual fictionist”.

REHIYON XIII
CARAGA
MGA LALAWIGAN AT KABISERA:

o Agusan del Norte- Butuan City

o Agusan del Sur- Prosperidad
o Surigao del Norte- Surigao
o Surigao del Sur- Tandag
 Mga pangunahing industriya ng rehiyon ang pagtotroso, pagmimina at
“aquaculture” at ang mga pangunahing ani ay palay, niyog, mais at mga
halamang-ugat.

AGUSAN
 Ang salitang Agusan ay nagmula raw sa salitang “Agus” na ang ibig sabihin ay
daloy ng tubig.
 Matatagpuan ang itinuturing na pangatlo sa pinakamalaking ilog sa bansa, ang
Agusan River na may habang 259 kilometro.
 Hindi rin nagiging problema ang suplay ng kuryente sa lugar na ito dahil sa
maraming anyong tubig ang lugar.

AGUSAN DEL NORTE

 Ito ay kapatagan na napaliligiran ng bundok. Ang pinakamataas na bundok ay
ang Mt. Milung-milong.
 Ang mga maipagmamalaking lugar at tanawin sa Agusan del Norte ay ang mga
sumusunod:
1. Lake Mainit Shoreline Area- Magandang lugar ito para sa bathing,
pamamangka at pangingisda.
2. Mt. Hilay-Hilay- Kinikilalang pinakamataas na bundok sa Agusan del
Norte. Mayaman ito sa flora at fauna.
3. Mt. Minaosog- Katatagpuan ng magagandang talon at hot spring.
4. Mapaso Hot Spring- Isang uri ng geothermal spring.
5. Aciga River- Ang ganda ng lumalagasgas na tubig ang matatanaw mula
sa ibabaw ng tulay ng Aciga.
6. Century Old Bitaug Tree- Pinamumugaran ng mga alitaptap at
nagsisilbing kanlungan ng mga magsasaka tuwing gabi.
7. Mounts Mabalo and Mayapay- Paboritong akyatin ng mga mountain
climbers.
8. Agusan River- Ang pinakamahabang ilog sa Butuan City at nagpapakilala
sa syudad bilang “The timber city of the south”.

AGUSAN DEL SUR

 Ito ay binubuo ng labing-apat na munisipalidad na may 311 barangay.
 Ang Agusan River na tinatawag na “River Towns”.
 Ang pangunahing produkto ng lugar ay palay at mais. Bus at dyip ang paraan ng
transportasyon samantalang telepono at telegrapo naman ang paraan ng
komuniskasyon.
 Dito nanggaling ang pinakamalaking suplay ng plywood.

SURIGAO DEL NORTE

 Walang init sa lugar na ito. Tag-ulan sa buong taon. Malapit ito sa sentro ng
bagyo kaya kadalasang binabagyo ito sa mga huling buwan ng taon.
 Malapit din ito sa Philippine Deep, ang lalawigan ay nakakaranas ng apat na
lindol taun-taon.
 Ang lalawigan ay may laang lagay ng lupain para tambakan ng mga basura.
 Balita ang Surigao del Norte sa pagdiriwang na tinatawag nilang Bonok-bonok
Festival. Sa pagdiriwang na ito ipinaparada nila ang Mahal na Sto. Nino.
 City park- Isang pook na ipinagmamalaki ng mga
tagarito dahil sa napananatiling kalinisan at
kagandahan ng lugar.

SURIGAO DEL SUR

 Bago dumating ang mga Kastila, ang mga lahing
naninirahan sa lalawigang ito ay tinatawag na
Mamanwa at Manobo.
 Ipinagdiriwang sa Surigao del sur ang Bonok-
bonok Festival tuwing Setyembre 10. Ang Bonok-
bonok ay tungkol sa pagpupugay sa lumikha dahil
sa masaganang ani at kalusugan.
