Critical reflections on your experience in completing Task A and Task B

that examine your own assessment practice prior to attending this course
in the context of Task A and B.
For Task A, I have to develop an assessment plan aligned with the learning
outcomes which I thought was an easy task. This first task already made me reflect
back to my own assessment practice prior attending this course. Although I have
read the learning outcomes for many times, I did not planned my assessment
according to that and I simply came up with a plan that was convenient for me as
an assessor. For an example, one of the learning outcomes requires students to be
able to apply communication skills in conversation but students were not given any
assessment that can demonstrate this learning outcome because I felt like it would
take a lot of time to assess them. Example of this assessment is to conduct a
presentation and evaluate students ability to converse. Without this assessment, it
will lead to the failure to fulfill the expected outcome of this module.
On the other hand, while completing Task B, I have identified several improvements
on my assessment practice particularly at constructing the multiple choice items in
different level of blooms taxonomy. Looking at the blooms taxonomy level, I have
realized that I have been constructing too much of level 1 and level 2 questions
when the learning outcome was actually looking at the level 4. Hence, I need to
proportionately allocate questions of appropriate levels in order for students to build
their cognitive skills up to the expected level which I did not care less before taking
this course. Other improvement is mainly on my construction of MCQ items
according to the cognitive levels that I need.
