WELCOME to our class!
This year, we will: 1. Follow Jesus' commandment - Love one another as I have loved you (John 13:33) 2. Learn about our Catholic faith 3. Have FUN 4. Make new friends 5. Have FUN RULES: No cell phones during classtime! If a student brings a cell phone to class, it must be left with the teacher when class starts. If a student needs to use their phone to contact a parent to arrange pick-up times etc., they need to let the teacher know and return the phone as soon as the call is finished. (Of course, phones will be returned after class is over.) If a student violates the cell phone rule, the teacher will confiscate the phone, and it will only be returned to that student's parent. This cell phone rule applies to all electronic devices - including i-pods, handheld game systems, tablets, etc. It is fine to exchange social media contact information with the new friends you make in class. But no cell phones during class! Students are expected to behave as they would in any classroom setting. Repeated disruptions will not be tolerated, and logical consequences will follow any inappropriate behavior. Parents will be contacted if a student has on-going behavior issues. Students are expected to treat all classmates, teachers, helpers, etc. with respect. THINGS TO KNOW: Your teachers want to know if you are having any problems with the class, your classmates, assignments or any other issue. If you have a problem or concern, please simply ask one of the teachers if you can have a private word with us, and we will take whatever time is needed to help you out. If you are uncomfortable about talking in person, you can call us at the phone numbers listed above or you can send an e-mail. Parents please call us or send an e-mail if you have any concerns or questions. There will not be regular homework assignments each week, although students will be asked to do some at-home reading sometimes. If/when we ask you do things at home, be prepared to share what you did the following week. There will be some prayers we will ask you to memorize, but you will have plenty of time to do that (so don't freak out!) Each student will have a folder where they can keep worksheets, notes and other information. We want you to leave that folder in the classroom so it will be available every time you are in class. We will be playing some games during class. So, you should probably expect to have a little bit of FUN, sometimes.
