Hotel and Tourist Information


Saudara mahasiswa,
Salah satu unsur penting dalam bidang kepariwisataan adalah ketersediaan
hotel tempat menginap yang dilengkapi dengan pengelolaan sistem
keamanan dan kenyaman yang baik. Dalam menyapa tamu dan menawarkan
fasilitas yang tersedia, ada beberapa istilah baku yang biasa digunakan,
diantaranya:
Ucapan selamat : good morning, good night, see you, dan lain-lain
Kata-kata sopan : could, would
Execuse me, can you tell me what kinds of services..
UNIT 1: Checking In
!) Memberi salam dan sambutan.
a) Good morning. May/Can/Could I help you?
b) Good afternoon. What can I do for you?
2) Meminta identitas tamu
a) May/Can/Could I have your name, please?
b) May/Can/Could I see your passport, please?
3) Memberitahu ada atau tidak adanya kamar yang tersedia
a) We have lots of vacant rooms
b) Im sorry, Sir. We have no vacancies.
c) Im afraid were rather full up, Sir.
4) Mempromosikan jenis kamar yang tersedia memberitahukan
letaknya :
a) Its single/double/twin/triple/family room with a bath/ a shower.
b) Its a nice room/Its a perfectly quiet room/Its comfortable.
c) Its air-conditioned. It has central heating.
d) Its a room with a good view of the beach/facing the front garden.
e) Its on the third/tenth/ground/top floor.

5) Memberitahukan harga atau jenis tarif kamar

a) The price includes breakfast/ The price is for bed and breakfast
b) We have a full-board rate. We have a daily rate with all meals included.
Its American plan
c) We have a half-board rate. We have a rate which includes breakfast and
one other meal.
d) The rate is for a room alone, with no meals included. Its European plan
e) We dont have single room, but we do have a twin room at sixty dollars a
night.
6) Menanyakan kesesuaian selera:
a) Would that be suitable?
b) Would that suit you?
7) Memberitahukan peraturan-peraturan yang berlaku
a) I have to fill in this registration card/these forms
b) We have to ask you this information by law
c) Its the hotel policy to see an international visitors passport for identity.
d) If you could just sign this. Would you please sign this?
8) Menanyakan berapa lama tamu akan menginap di hotel tersebut.
a) How long would you be staying here, madam? How many nights are
you planning to stay?
b) Do you expect to stay here for sometime?
9) Menawarkan diri (seseorang) untuk mengantar tamu
(membawakan barang tamu) ke kamar:
a) May I show you to your room?
b) The porter will take your bags up in the lift and show you to your room.
c) I will have the porter/bell boy carry your baggage up to your room.
10) Mengharapkan agar tamu menikmati kunjungannya.
a) I hope youll enjoy your stay here
b) Have a nice stay.
c) Have a nice day.
d) Have a good time.

UNIT 2 : At The Front Desk : Giving Information on Hotel Service.

b) I suggest that you deposit them in the hotel safe./I suggest
depositing them in the hotel safe.
Menganjurkan pilihan:
a) Id better not leave them in my room, had I?
b) Youd better deposit them in the hotel safety box, Sir.
Menganjurkan dengan ungkapan Why dont you?
a) Why dont you deposit them in the safety box?
b) Why dont you call room service?/Why dont you ask for an early
morning call?
