Stay Safe - NSPCC Assemblies
NSPCC Volunteers Caroline, Steph, Vera and
Charlotte spoke to and with the children
about a range of safety matters serious
things to talk about of course, but important
to do so, and the assemblies and workshops
were handled in a very good-humoured,
relaxed and accessible way. We were most
grateful to each of the volunteers - it is so
good of them to give up their time in this
way - and to the NSPCC for making an event
like this possible.
Guitar Group
On Wednesday, Mr Coneys guitar pupils put
on an absolutely splendid assembly .
Working together as an ensemble, they
played some rock and reggae themes, and
all did really well.

Bronte Friends - Drinks and canapsand the

AGM
Last Wednesdays Friends AGM was went very
well, and the minutes will be circulated shortly many thanks to all who came, for what proved a
most congenial evening. The Friends plan very
much to continue the successful range of social
events, with a touch of re-shuffling, replacing one
or two events with new ones.
The fund-raising element was considered too,
and the AGM was happy to continue the current
mix of charitable fundraising and support for
particular school projects and events for the
children. The bank balance is a healthy 4,500.
The AGM approved two school projects, the
acquisition of curtains for the new stage and the
purchase of a light box for a project being run
by Nurse Katie.
The latter, which I must confess I needed briefing
about, is a device to help with cleanliness of small
hands before mealsthe namely by showing up
where pre-lunch washing may not have been
effective as it might have been. Its a small
purchase but should actually help all we do to
promote good health care and hygiene. Moving
swiftly on from less than perfectly clean small
hands..
The stage curtains will nicely complete the School
Hall refurbishment, and the Friends enthusiasm
for the project here is much appreciated. Its a
very visible project of course, and all children will
benefit.
Nominations for committee members close on
Monday 3rd October and the full new committee
and volunteers list will be given out next week.

Transition Meeting - for Bronte Nursery parents.
Open Morning - Saturday 12th November
Probably because in this particular year there has
been the successful launch of the Kindergarten,
there has been relatively little take-up for the
Nursery/School transition meeting planned for this
Saturday, 1st October, and so it has been cancelled.
Partly to replace the transition meeting and partly as
a general event for the School, on Saturday 12th
November, 10.00 - 12.00noon, we are putting on an
Open Morning. Do please put this in your diaries.
We will be inviting Year 6 and other children to take
part, and are looking forward to what should be a
buzzy and exciting morning when we can show to
prospective families the school at its best. Current
families are more than welcome too, if youd like a
look around and to see and listen to the childrens
work. Further details will follow do put this in your
diaries.
