Dear Friends,
Women empowerment is completely based on womens education. Bharat Ratna
Maharshi Karve, the great social reformist in the field of womens education started
his movement in 1896 with the school for widows; Indeed it was unprecedented step
taken by him with a great vision. He devoted his entire life for Womens Education.
Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS) spread over in 60 educational and
other units including institutions imparting professional education like Cummins
Engineering college, Bhanuben Nanavati Architecture college, School of Fashion
Technology and Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and Research for Women
(HNIMR).
HNIMR is flagship of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha.
We live in dynamic age of Globalization. Changing paradigms of business have fueled a
new thinking in our management education system. There is a keen need to adopt
necessary changes in our conventional view of management education and to train
our new generation with capabilities of cross culture professional knowledge which
enables them to contribute in the development of our country.
The aim of HNIMR is to develop Professional Women Managers for the overall
National Development.
HNIMR has established sound infrastructural facilities and linked the best of the
faculty which offer a platform for interaction with the industry executives on
contemporary topics of concern. Our mission is to develop HNIMR as a leading

About HNIMR
HNIMR, a premier institute in management education established in 1996, is
approved by AICTE, New Delhi and DTE - Government of Maharashtra and is
affiliated to University of Pune.
Our Institute is marching towards International Accreditation. International
Accreditation Organization has granted Candidacy Status to our Institute.
(The Candidacy Status is granted to the Institutes after careful evaluation on
various parameters) The Candidacy Status has paved the way for our Institute
for fuller accreditation.
HNIMR encourages intellectual curiosity, open minds and innovation among

Student Council
The Students' Council comprises of students who represent the Placement,
Cultural, Entrepreneurship development, Public relations, Community
development, Art cell as well as the class representatives. They work under the
guidance of trained faculty in order to manage their respective cells and thus
ensure the development of the institute as a whole.

Placement cell
The Placement cell sharpens skills of our students through training programs,
workshops and mock interviews. It helps the students develop strong analytical
skills and strategic thinking and enhances their knowledge to enter in the
corporate world.
Past Guiding the Present
The love of HNIMR complels alumni to return, to revisit the memories, to rekindle
old friendships, and to give back a part of their time, energy and resources to the

Academic Monitoring Committee

The AMC is Proposed to be constituted with a view to meeting with the goal of
QIP (Quality improvement Programme). This committee will monitor the overall
academic quality improvement programme. This will also integrate academic
activities with placement, corporate interface and rest of the cells which are
meant for overall quality improvement leading to brand building

It is one of the most popular Inter - collegiate management fast which gives
budding managers a chance to explore and exhibit their logical, analytical and
presentation skills.
This events was honored and judged by the eminent personalities.
It was an eventful day at Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and
Research for Women, popularity known as HNIMR situated in a lush green campus
in Karveneger, HNIMR flaunts its identity of being one of the premier institutes of
management in Pune. The institute has succeeded in carving its niche in the
premium management institutes with the success of Kushagra.

National Seminar
The Institute Has Organized For National Seminar On "LOCAL AND GLOBAL
IMPERATIVES OF BUSINESS EXCELLENCE" ON 8th & 9th February 2013. The Key-note
speaker for the inaugural session was Mr. R. R. Deshpande (Executive Director, Kirloskar
Oil Engines) who narrated the Excellence related initiatives of Kirolskar Oil Engines. The
Session Chairman Mr. Bhart Kumar (General Manager, Bank of Maharashtra) in his lucid
interactions shared the customer focused drives of Bank of Maharashtra. Guest of
Honor Mr. Udo Kippler, (Director Outsourcing Consultancy Language Services) shared
his views about Indian students as compared with International students, specially
German Students and further suggested, the avenues of students for excellence drives.
The Special presence of Dr. Capt. C. M Chitale (H.O.D, PUMBA), appreciating the
consistency of HNIMR for past 3 years , in line with the legacy of Maharshee Karve,
motivated all the stake holders

On the 21st of September, 2012, Research Cell of Maharishi Karve Stree Shikshan Samthan's Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of
Management and Research for Women conducted it's Intra Summer Project Competition .The shortlisted participants
presented their research project work.

Envision
Envision 2013 PPT presentation competition was organised for undergraduate students from Junior colleges in and around Pune.
The participants were evaluated based on criteria like presentation skill, communication skill, relevance of content, overall impact
etc.

On the 27th of September, 2012, Research Cell of Maharishi Karve Stree Shikshan Samthan's Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute of
Management and Research for Women conducted it's Inter Collegiate Mini Research Project Competition, HORIZON. Various
management institutes from Maharashtra participated in the event. The event got an overwhelming response.

Maharshi Karve stree Shikshan Samstha

Maharshi Karve was a pioneer in the field of women's education. He established the
'Hingne Stree Shikshan Samstha' in 1896 (later renamed as 'Maharshi Karve Stree
Shikshan Samstha') to empower women through education. The highest civilian
award 'Bharat Ratna' was conferred upon him for his contribution towards the field
of Women's education .
Maharshi Karve knew that women have the inherent power within them. The
samstha continues to go ahead with conviction that education can create self awareness among women and make them confident. Only then can they play an
effective role in the nation - building.
The Samstha runs schools, teachers training institutes, hostels for students and
working women, production units, technical and vocational training institutes etc.
These branches strive to develop women into truly performing citizens.
