Administrative Office Professional Innovate Tournament

First Place Tournament Winners -Team Thrifty

The Innovate Tournament challenges students with the task of turning

everyday household items into something valuable. This years object
was used clothing; creating useful products from used clothing that
would not be accepted by a thrift store. Student take stained, ripped and
torn clothing and turn it into a usable product. In order to showcase the
innovation, each team produces a 3-minute video on how they created
value using the used clothing. The items the students create are sold or
given away, creating both economic and social value. Moreover, all the
items are reused, keeping them out of the landfill and providing value for
the environment. Monies raised selling their creations are donated to a
charity of the teams choice.
This event helps to create growth and confidence within students, as they
are able to build communication and presenting skills, as well as building
teamwork and cooperation among group members.
