1. What requirements must you meet in order to study abroad? (i.e. GPA, etc.)
Students must meet the following requirements to study abroad
-Cumulative GPA of 2.75 for semester or year-long programs
-Cumulative GPA of 2.50 for summer programs
-Must have at least sophomore standing during term abroad
-Must not be in final semester of degree program during period abroad
-Must have the approval of the Office of International Programs and your department

2. What are the three (3) different types of study abroad programs available to
students?
The three study abroad programs include Exchange in which provides an
affordable way to participate in study abroad. The Direct Study Abroad program
thats administered by an organization offering study abroad support services and
also the Faculty led program in which you are accompanied by an NCAT faculty
member.
3. What are the deadlines for applying for study abroad?
SPRING: October 14
SUMMER: March 15
Fall: March 15
4. What are three different ways that you can raise money to fund your trip?
Financial aid, scholarships and fellowships.
5. Name two (2) scholarships that can fund you for your trip and how you meet the
requirements?
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship can be awarded if a student is a
U.S Citizen and also must receive a federal Pell Grant. The Office of International

Program has a Travel grant In which is rewarded if you are participation in a study
tour.
6. Where would you like to travel to for your study abroad experience and why?
I would like to travel to Spain. They have several schools that have programs
pertaining to my major and is also located in Europe which would give me easy
access to explore other countries when there are breaks at school.
7. Does A&T offer this as an option? If not, then what would be your second choice
destination?
Yes, A&T offers it as an option.
