1. What requirements must you meet in order to study abroad? (i.e. GPA, etc.)
It is required that you have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 for semester or yealong programs. Cumulative GPA of 2.50 for summer programs. At least sophomore
standing during period abroad. Must not be in final semester of degree program
during period abroad. Must have the approval of the Office of International
Programs and your department.
2. What are the three (3) different types of study abroad programs available to
students?
Exchange, Direct Study Abroad and Faculty Led.
3. What are the deadlines for applying for study abroad?
Spring: October 14
Summer: March 15
Fall: March 15
4. What are three different ways that you can raise money to fund your trip?
Financial Aid, Scholarships and Fellowships
5. Name two (2) scholarships that can fund you for your trip and how you meet the
requirements?
AIFS NAFEO Scholarship: To receive this scholarship you must attend an
HBCU, 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA and completion of application
Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship: Must be receiving a Federal Pell
Grant
6. Where would you like to travel to for your study abroad experience and why?
If I had the opportunity to travel, I would to go to either Europe or Japan.
