ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENT SPECIALIST

Basic Function:
1.

The E/I Technician acts as work responsible for the electrical installation of the Gas
Plat Installation. He/she performs preventive and corrective maintenance, failure
analysis and repairs of the equipment, based on approved maintenance strategies and
plans. The E/I technician will execute work according to planning , according to HSSE.

Tasks, Duties and Accountabilities:


1.

Acts as work responsible for the electrical installation.

2.

Ensure that all work is done in accordance with approved working procedures.

3.

Providing E&I maintenance support and applying var

ious calibration and

troubleshooting methods.
4.

Collects material and tools from store.

5.

Registers material usage, consumption.

6.

Coordinates his work with the Operators as appropriate.

7.

Give service - contractors electrical and instrumental support if needed.

8.

Conducts other various tasks, as required by Project Manager.

9.

Creates work requests for follow up on inspection when required.

10. Marks up drawings after modifications and checks revised drawings.


11. Responsible for correct use of supplied tools and equipment and the personal toolbox.
12. Maintaining good housekeeping at the site, and clean worksite after terminating job.
13. Reports all accidents / incidents / near misses and potential hazards immediately.
14. Prepare work orders for electrical and instrumental work, if not by planner/scheduler.
15. Attended HAZOP reviews and take part in work sessions when requested.
16. Keep knowledge and personal certifications up to date.
Administrative Tasks:
1.

Daily reporting of all electrical and instrumental work order results (failures, technical
findings, asset status, material consumptions, etc.).

2.

Weekly/daily administration of hours worked (timesheets).

3.

Prepare material requests for E/I work.

4.

Keeps all relevant project files in good order.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Medium level technical education (MTS or equivalent).
2. Three years experience in E/I maintenance in theprocess industry (preferably oil &
gas).
Knowledge of:
1. LV and HV systems and subsequent systems.
2. Switch gear systems.
3. Transformers.
4. Electric motors.
5. Metering systems.
6. Control systems.
7. Safeguarding systems.
8. PLCs.
9. Computer skills (required): word, Excel, MS project.
10. English: working knowledge.

ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENT SPECIALIST-COMMISSIONING PHASE


Pondok Makmur, West Java, Indonesia
Tasks, Duties and Accountabilities:
1.

To act as first line support for any rotating equipment.

2.

To analyse areas of low performance on the rotating equipment systems and


recommend potential areas for remedial / improvement action.

3.

Liaise with the Rotating Equipment Engineers onshore, to ensure timely intervention
and rectification of issues.

4.

To manage and develop rotating equipment reporting tools / action tracker; consumable
spares use / reorder, track equipment running hours, prioritise and plan work scopes to
deliver continual plant availability / reliability improvement.

5.

Act as single focal point for all ofshore Rotating Equipment upgrade and overhaul work
scopes.

6.

Support maintenance team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices.


Participate in maintenance reviews and develop programmes to reduce breakdowns and
increase operability of plant and systems.

7.

To be proficient with laser alignment equipment / techniques.

8.

Complete all Gas Turbine bore scope inspections at service intervals.

9.

Manage the special tooling specific to area of responsibility.

10. Produce technical reports, in company format and present findings to the onshore
Rotating Equipment Engineer.
11. Ensure full compliance with all Health Safety and Environmental responsibilities.
12. Undertake product specific training, to maintain optimum role efectiveness.
13. Ensure all maintenance activities undertaken on the facility are and remain aligned to
company / client business goals, in terms of Safety, Environmental Discharges,
Equipment performance and maintenance cost.
14. Report immediately any identified unsafe acts or conditions using the company's
procedures, e.g. EARS, Near Miss Report, Unsafe Condition Report, HART card, etc.
15. Observe Company safety rules and regulations, including permit to work system and
comply with same.
16. Participate and where necessary lead task risk assessments as per Company's
procedures.
17. Identify where engineering changes are required, to improve equipment / system
operation and raise ECR accordingly.

18. In conjunction with relevant discipline technicians, support timely completion of


rotating equipment routine and corrective maintenance.
19. Investigate and repair rotating equipment defects or breakdown. Advise Maintenance
Supervisor of status at all times.
20. Ensure the installation, testing and maintenance of equipment is conducted in
accordance with Company requirements and statutory Government standards.
21. Maintain good housekeeping conditions in workshop and work sites
22. Required to assist and work with other disciplines when required, where multi-skilling
within a team culture is a major area of development on the platform.
23. Assist and work with specialised vendors who visit platform, ensure that all tasks are
completed correctly and safely, also ensure that a site report is written and recorded on
the platform maintenance database (Maximo)
