ISSN Project Reflection

What my project is about is the environment in our community, school,

and in our homes. So the purpose of this project was to show how
sometimes in our own community there is trash mostly in some places don't
expect there to be. As I was going around my community and taking pictures
I thought my community wouldn't be as trashed as I thought. The LA river is
filled with trash and that is the water we drink and I was disgusted because a
part of the water turned green. My goals before I started was to get good
pictures on the trash that is in our community.

Some of the decisions I made while making this project was on the
pictures, I had to decide what I should take pictures on and I also had to put
the benefits and the down sides of the project. I also had to decide how many
slides me and my partner were going to do and also decide on some of the
pictures that were necessary.

What I learned about this topic was how different the environment is
around me. What I learned about myself was I can be more organized and
make goo decisions when it comes to my projects. What I needed to improve
on was on explaining my slides a little better. What I would do differently
next time is maybe instead of a power point ill do a video. What made me
proud where the pictures and my explanation was a little disappointing.
I investigated the world by learning that garbage can be an issue not only
in south gate but in the world. This experience supported our vision because
we can actually tell our classmates about what we did and show them what
we saw. I recognized and weighed perspectives by learning about the trash in
our community I know it matters in todays society because trash and
garbage is everywhere. I communicated ideas in different ways by doing this
project and letting people know about the problem we currently have. I took
action by cleaning near my home which is necessary in todays society
because if we start in our home we can develop cleaning our community and
eventually outside our comfort zone.
