I am writing to recommend Katie McCabe for your available possible teaching

position. I have known Katie from August 2016 December 2016 as a student
teacher intern at Collins Elementary here in Forest Hills Public Schools. I observed
that she is willing to take new challenges to impart instructions and create a
positive classroom environment.

Ms. McCabe has done a tremendous job of challenging and educating her students.
She has high expectations and a very respectful rapport with her students. She
does an excellent job in establishing her routines and procedures in the classroom.
She also demonstrates an ability to manage the classroom with respect and care.
She varies her teaching to help meet the needs of all her students. Her passion
and motivation has been evident in her daily work. I have observed Katie in social
studies, literacy and math activities since August 2016.

Her ability to connect with her students, staff and parents are excellent. Katie has
fantastic written and verbal communication skills, and is extremely organized and
reliable. She can work independently and is able to follow through to ensure that
the job gets done. She accomplishes these tasks with great initiative and with a
very positive attitude. Katie worked with her mentor teacher very well. They
learned from each other. Her presence and tone are very student-centered. She
also collaborated well during professional learning community time with the whole
third grade team.
