Dear Gov. Contreras,

My name is James Buensalido Dellava, a citizen of Brgy. Cogon, Panay, Capiz and a graduate of
Senior High School (SHS) Batch 2018-2019, With High Honors. I am sending this letter to you
because I am applying for the Scholarship that the Capiz Provincial Government is offering to
deserving and determined students but cannot afford the school tuition and other fees.

I came from a simple, poor, but a loving family. I am the 5 th Child in the family of 6. My hard
working Father was once a Farmer and now disabled while my Mother is a loving house wife
who always find a way to give us the things that we needed day by day. My Father suffered from
Stroke last March 2018 and this happening made a great impact in our lives. It is a time that is
full of pain and heartaches. But I still thank God for giving him another life and another chance
to live. And these situations didn’t stopped me for achieving my dreams.

I know that money is really needed since I will be going to College this coming school year
taking up Bachelor of Science in Nursing at St. Anthony College of Roxas City, Inc., where I
also finished my SHS. Unfortunately, my family is facing a financial problem and this could
hinder my study. My family couldn’t afford to send me to school and being granted a scholarship
will be a very great help to me and to my family. I really wanted to finish my studies, and if
given a chance I wanted to proceed to Medicine after I finish my Nursing Course to serve my
Community.

Attached with this letter is my Registration Form in my chosen school, St. Anthony College of
Roxas City, Inc., and with great joy I humbly present to you some of my achievements and
academic records during my Elementary, Junior High School, and Senior High School years.
And one of this is being chosen as One of the 2016 Outstanding Boys and Girls that was
organized by Rotary Club of Metro Roxas, where I was chosen to be the 3rd Board Member
with Board Member Eduardo Magallanes as my Mentor. I was also chosen as One of the
2017 Outstanding Students of Capiz (Batch Tib-Ong) organized by Borres Youth Leadership
Institute (BYLI).

I will be very grateful if you will choose me as one of your Scholars. I promise to do my very
best to finish my studies with the support of the government. With dedication and perseverance, I
really believe that I can reach my dreams. Thank you, God bless and more power!
