Background of the problem

STI Academic Center in Calamba towering five-storey building stands on a 7,397 square-meter
property located in Brgy. Uno, National Highway, Calamba Laguna. It accommodates its
students with its new and up-to-date facilities consisting of fully air-conditioned classrooms
equipped with LCD projectors and LED lightning systems; a library filled with updated research
materials; internet and Wi-Fi connection; and industry-grade simulation laboratories aimed to
provide a modern and conducive learning environment for its students.

STI Academic Center Calamba hired a janitor or janitress to maintain clean and good facilities of
the building. The janitor is responsible to clean, in order to maintain the cleanliness of the
school. However cleaning of the facilities within the school is not so easy because different time
of entry fee of the students. Without proper time for cleaning, they always had to sweep and mop
the floor. The hallway is able to clean properly after school and on weekends only. Nonetheless
allroomsofthebuildingisabletocleanaftertheendofsemester.

The floor polisher is one of the equipment they use to clean. It consist of brush, the brush cleans
the floor and dried with aid of small blower. There are 3 types of brush that they use, the white
brush pod for marble floor to remove dust and to polish the floor, red brush pod to remove sticky
dirt and black brush pod for vinyl to remove extreme dirt. They used this equipment only once a
week because of its weight and difficult to control. This floor polisher will need an extension
cord to reach the floor to be cleaned. After they polish the floors, the dust that has been gain is
need to sweep the floor three times.Thedusthastobesweptandreplacedeverydaytomaintain
thecleanlinessoftheschool.
Overview of the current state of the technology

They have to polish hallways. The cleaning includes cleaning of various surfaces basically
cementfloorsormarblefloors. After they polish the floors, the dust that has been gain is need to
sweep the floor three times. They used this cleaning procedure four times a month.Otherwise,
theyusedtocleanthefloorwiththehelpofdrymoporwetmopandbroomsbecausethe
hallway is able to clean properly after school and on weekends only. Nonethelessallroomsof
