COURSE STRUCTURE What is the assessment for MD RP2?
When does MD Research Project run? The assessment tasks for MD RP2 are: The MD Research Project (MD RP) subjects are delivered in Year 3 an extended literature review (5000 words; 30%) and Year 4 of the MD course. MD Research Project 1 (MD RP1) runs a final report in the style of a journal article from 3 July 2017 to 29 September 2017; MD Research Project 2 (4000 words; 40%; hurdle task) (MD RP2) runs from 29 Jan 2018 to 29 June 2018. a poster for presentation at the MD Student Conference (10%) a Project Supervisor evaluation (10%). What happens in MD RP1? three progress reports MD RP1 is a preparatory period during which students will not be working with their Project Supervisor full-time. draft literature review; where required, assisting project supervisors Early July Students advised of their project allocation to prepare and submit ethics applications; and spending a small amount of time in their host unit. The assessment tasks for MD RP1 are: 11 June Students to provide draft of journal 18 June monograph to supervisors Project Supervisor, site, project title and research question specified (pass/fail assessment) Late June Poster presentation at MD Student a structured project plan (up to 1000 words; pass/fail early July Conference assessment) 29 June Semester ends a draft literature review (2000 words; pass/fail assessment). The research question and project plan are assessed by the MD 9 July Journal monograph due RP Subject Coordinator (or their nominees); the draft literature reviewed is assessed by the project supervisors using a structured 16 July Supervisor evaluation of student due pro-forma. Project supervisors will be provided with all materials to assist with marking of the literature review in the latter half of MD RP1. * dates are indicative only and subject to change.
