Running Head: What makes effective teacher
2
This chapter talks about the requirements to be an effective teacher in classroom. There are
mainly three qualities of effective teachers: instructional planning, instructional delivery and
assessment for learning. I think three qualities are equally important but teacher should consider
how they can make better in these areas. For instance teachers should think about what makes
their planning better. Teacher should always change in planning, delivery and assessment
according to the need of students. The teacher might have the best planning but if the students
are not interested then student learn nothing. Therefore the teacher should plan the lesson
according to students interest and their level of understanding. On the other hand, teachers must
have good content knowledge, care for students and classroom management skills. Likewise
there must be appropriate resources to assess the students. If the materials are not connected with
lesson, the students might forget easily that they have learned.
When the teachers delivery their lessons, they should have efficiency in giving clear
efficient translation makes teachers plans into action. In the same manner, teacher should always
find the misconception that the students have. There might be some students who are still in
confusion but never express to the teacher. In this situation teacher should build relation with
students so that they can share their misconception to the teacher. On the other hand, the teacher
should create the collaborative environment among the students. If teacher give assessment
where students can share and discuss each other. When they discuss each other, they will learn
more from their friends. At last outside from classroom, teachers can be effective if they provide
