Mobile Application for Creating
Subject Math: Number and Number Sense
Grade Level Second Grade
Learning Objective 2.1 The student will
a) read, write, and identify the place
value of each digit in a three-digit
numeral, using numeration models;
b) round two-digit numbers to the nearest
ten; and
c) compare two whole numbers between
0 and 999, using symbols (>, <, or =)
Content
and words (greater than, less than, or
equal to).
Activity The teacher will ask the students to practice
with him/her on the board with a few
greater than, less than, equal to
comparisons, rounding two-digit numbers to
the nearest ten, and identifying the place
value of each digit.
The teacher will also discuss why the
answers are what they are and ask if there
are questions.
The teacher will have the students practice
their flashcards individually.
While the students are practicing flashcards
individually, the teacher will pass out the
Pedagogy
iPads.
The teacher will then ask students to get
onto the Animal Math.

Second Grade
2.1 The student will
a) read, write, and identify the place
value of each digit in a three-digit
numeral, using numeration models;
b) round two-digit numbers to the nearest
ten; and
c) compare two whole numbers between
0 and 999, using symbols (>, <, or =)
and words (greater than, less than, or
equal to).
The teacher will introduce the students to
greater than, less than, and equal to math
problems along with rounding to the nearest
ten and identifying place values.
Teacher will pass out a worksheet and ask
students to fill in the blanks.
The teacher will then explain that the
students will be working collaboratively over
the course of the year in a group to answer
to practice and improve math skills. This will
be done through Skype.
The teacher will then give directions of how
to use the app
