This training is designed to give paraprofessionals an opportunity to enhance their ability

to effectively provide instruction and other direct services to meet the diverse needs of all
students in a variety of educational settings. The training will provide an overview of
TVES procedures (i.e. duties: bus, caf, arrival/dismissal, recess; emergency drills, etc.),
review ROCKS throughout the school building, strategies for supporting students in the
classrooms and in small group, supporting teachers, and substitute dos and donts.
Additionally, the training will help paraprofessionals strengthen their strategies for
communicating with students in meaningful ways.

Paraprofessionals often receive a small amount of review once school has begun. It does
not allow ample time to teach/model or review all of the facets of their vast
responsibilities. Allowing paraprofessionals to come in for a paid training session prior
to the start of the school year will allow TVES the opportunity to devote the time to train
our paraprofessionals to the policies and expectations of the TVES learning model. This
will increase their 1:1 time with students as soon as the school year begins, and
ultimately, will positively impact our school culture and the success and achievement of
all learners in our community.
