PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The school aims to develop and establish a practice among teachers the value of
collaboration through meetings and gatherings towards developing strategies and
improvement in their profession. The PLC is designed to elicit interest and energy
among teachers to be actively involved in the learning community which would benefit
them to personally and professionally grow. The approach of the PLC program focuses
on teachers’ professional development; however, the result and efficacy will be largely
appreciated through their delivery of instruction. Opportunity for teachers to decide is
encouraged as the school’s vision evolves from the values of employees. Making
decision to whether a teacher would like to be better in his/her teaching delivery or to
provide the best learning to students is their guidepost. The ultimately goal therefore of
the PLC program is to assist the teachers in realizing their chosen profession as molders
of young minds. The program shall establish and maintain a democratic atmosphere to
encourage everyone’s participation and the values of care and concern to one another
must be demonstrated.

To ensure that the program will exist and be sustained, this PLC program as an
organizational learning shall form part of the Faculty Development Program of the
institution. Teachers/ faculty are required to participate in the program and shall be
added as a criterion in the evaluation of teacher’s performance towards the end of the
school year. The principal or the assistant principal shall monitor the result of the PLCs
and the activities varies.
GUIDELINES:
1. This gathering may be composed of faculty members together, faculty teaching
in the same grade level, and/or faculty teaching the same subject.
2. The PLC activities identified are based on the common needs of teachers during
a small group session.
3. The schedule of PLC is modified year- round.
4. PLC schedules are outside working hours.
5. The identified time may depend on the common free time of teachers or after
working hours.
6. Meetings/ sessions of teachers are not limited to school gathering set- up.
7. Meetings/ sessions must be documented/ recorded and shall be used for action
research. Results must gear towards improvement.
8. Attendance of teachers to scheduled sessions/ meetings will not be strictly
monitored, however, the discussion made during the session of non- appearance
should be relayed or cascaded to other members who were not present during a
certain period.
9. Feedback through report to the assistant principal or to the principal is required
to address recommendations or strategies for teaching improvement and student
learning.
10.Series of deliberation to arrive into a resolution or agreement may happen in the
presence of the principal.
