1. This is your weekend response. " Compare the characters of Cik Yam in Mariah by Che
Husna Azahari to Mrs Hamid 1 in Her by Titis Basino. Please bring this to class next week.

I am comparing Mrs Hamid 1 in Her by Titis Basino and Cik Yam in Mariah by Che
Husna Azahari is because there is a huge meaningful connection between those two. First,
both of the characters act as a very loyal, devoted wife to their husbands. Mrs Hamid 1 is too
successful at being a devoted wife and her life revolved around the needs of the family. She
has given her husband children, an organized household, home-cooked meal, a warm and
ready welcome for her husband and friends. However, the husband takes a second wife due to
Mrs Hamid 1 has no life outside of the family. As for CIk Yams case, undoubtedly is a loyal,
pious wife and being the icon of other woman with full package in her own at the village in
Molo. Furthermore, she is being the wife of Pak Imam definitely put her up to a higher level.
Cik Yam never fails to entertain and carry out all the need that Pak Imam wants since they get
married.

Secondly, both of them take the test of their husband takes another wife to see their
tolerance for it. They believed in brightness and relief that will come after each difficulty, just
like Allah S.W.T promised in surah Al-Insyirah from Quran. CIk Yam and Mrs Hamid 1
devoutly believe that a woman, they are destined to accept and to protect. They have the
obligations toward their marriage, their duty as a woman, a wife and a mother. Not to forget,
both of this remarkable women are convinced that the second wife in nonetheless dedicated
as well to the husbands to making him happy, take care of his needs through thick and thin,
and the second wife also has the right to a husband. In conclusion, both CIk Yam and Mrs
Hamid 1 portrayed the virtuous, loyal, devoted wife regardless how terrible it is to share a
husband with another woman and accepted it willingly.
