On Practice of Gas-Ballasting Effect

T. Ikeda (Tokuda seisakusho Co. Ltd. , Tokyo, Japan)

It has been well discussed for qualitative natures of a gas-ballast pump for many years,

however, there has been little quantitative discussion with measurement.

Corresponding to several experiments with gas-ballast theory in this paper, the numerical

results are obtained.

Say, pump temperature of 52 is estimated in our data and the experimental pump can be

exhausted without condensation, 2.2 litres/hour of water vapor issuing the pump in winter

and 1. 5 litres/hour in summer while the gas-ballast flow is 6 ~ 103 1 . mmHg/sec.
