My Hero

by Willis Hall

My dad's as brave as a dad can be,

I rate him Number One,
He's not afraid of the dead of night,
Or anything under the sun.

He's not afraid of a late-night film,

Full of horros on the telly,
And is he afraid of skeletons?
Not dad, not on your Nelly!

He's not afraid of meeting ghosts,

He'd even smile and greet 'em,
And things that scrae most dads the most,
My dad could just defeat 'em.

He's not afraid of vampires,

Or a wolf-man come to get him,
If Frankenstein's monster knocked on our door,
He wouldn't let that upset him.

My dad's as brave as a dad can be,

And he's always ready to prove it.
So why, when a spider's in the bath,
Does Mum have to come and remove it?
Synopsis

The personas admires his father a lot. He describes his father as very brave
and not afraid of anything. Due to this, he rates him as Number One. His
father who watches horror movies late at night will not be terrified by any
scary scenes or skeletons. If any ghost appears in front of him, he will either
greet them fearlessly or fight them off. Horror figures, ugly or scary looking
creatures (ghost, vampires,wolf-man) do not give him the creeps even if
they appear at his door. However, his only weakness is - fear of spiders.

TEXT 2

Everyone has their own hero. My hero is my father. I admire him ______________ he is a caring
and loving person. ______________ he takes care of me when I was having a bad flu .
___________ he is a responsible man. _________________ he teaches my siblings and me to
In our life, we have met so many people and usually they have a certain
place in our heart or life. If someone ask me, my answer is absolutely a hero.
And I call him Daddy. When I was a little girl, I was not interested in skirts,
dresses, or dolls, or whatever girly stuff but I love heroes. My favorite hero is
my dad. He rescues me in hard situations, but instead of giving me wings,
taking me to fly with him, he teaches me how to fly by my own wings without
him. When I fall, instead of catching me before I fall, he picks me up, brushes
me off and lets me try again.

For example, I remember the first day of school of mine, I was so

nervous and I cried a lot when my dad took me to school. When we were at
school, my dad held me tightly and said, My little angel, Daddy is always by
your side. Now, lets go and make some new friends. Daddy is always here for
you, princess! Then, he kissed me on forehead and let me go. At that time, to
a seven-year-old girl, classroom is a huge place with many strange people
and it was a little bit scared, at least to me. I thought, Let go of my heros
hand is not a lucid decision, absolutely. But then, I made some friends and
had fun with them. The feeling of scare when I first came disappeared
completely. I realized that the other kids who had their parents were next to
seemed shy and I thought they havent had any new friends yet. At that
moment, I felt comfortable and whispered to myself, Thank you, Daddy.

However, a hero sometimes gets upset over something, so does my

dad. When I was young, I was so interested in my toys and cartoon. Although
food is just in front of me, I prefer playing and watching. As my dad knew it
and he decided that there would be no more cartoon and toys during lunch
time.
In conclusion, my daddy is the best hero for me. I always pray that God
will bless him throughout his life because he has helped me to be what I need
to be. I am grateful to be his daughter.
