Lesson idea implementation:

Teacher will introduce the lesson by sharing a PowerPoint movie on forms of precipitation in order to
activate students prior knowledge. The teacher will then have the students sit so that there are 4 groups.
Each group will be assigned a form of precipitation and come up with descriptions for them. They must label
whether their form of precipitation would be identified as a solid or liquid. They will then take turns sharing
with the class. This will serve as the conclusion for the lesson.
This lesson will take around 30-40 minutes to complete. The students learning will be assessed based on
their collaboration within their groups and their results. Differentiation is incorporated through the use of
audio, visuals, and having the students work collaboratively. The groups will be assigned in a heterogeneous
fashion so that more advanced students can provide support to struggling students. Extension will be
provided to students by having them write a short summary on their assigned form of precipitation. Feedback
will be given to the students as they present to the class.
