Lesson idea implementation: Teacher will begin the lesson by showing students a powerpoint asking
students to tell her whether the item shown is a solid or a liquid. Students will then begin creating a
powerpoint containing examples of solids and liquids and labeling them. The students will have two class
periods to complete the project and will work in pairs.

Student learning will be assessed by checking that they included enough correctly labeled solids and liquids (5
of each). The final products will the published on our classroom blog without student names. We will
conclude the lesson by a discussion reviewing solids and liquids. Students will receive a rubric giving them
feedback on their powerpoints.

Reflective Practice: This lesson introduces the concept to students and allows them to further explore the
concept and create their own product. They then have the opportunity to post their work on the student
blog.
