    Akshay Jain, age 30, was referred by Dr. Abhilash Dubey for a CT scan of the paranasal sinuses on February 23, 2017. The scan showed mucosal thickening in the right maxillary sinus and a polypoid lesion with thickening in the left maxillary sinus. Both the bilateral osteomeatal complexes and frontal and ethmoid sinuses were blocked or opacified. The scan also revealed mucosal thickening in the right sphenoid sinus. The opinion was of bilateral maxillary, frontal, ethmoid and right sphenoid sinusitis with a polyp or retention cyst in the left maxillary sinus.

    CT STUDY OF PARANASAL SINUSES [ CORONAL ]

    Right maxillary sinus shows peripheral mucosal thickening .Left


    maxillary sinus shows polypoid lesion with mucosal thickening No
    evidence of any bony destruction is seen.

    Bilateral osteomeatal complexes are blocked.

    Bilateral frontal and ethmloid sinuses are opacified Right sphenoid


    sinus shows mucosal thickening .

    Nasal septum is in midline.

    Bilateral nasal turbinates are seen normally.

    No mass lesion is seen in nasopharynx or nasal cavity.

    OPINION:

    BILATERAL MAXILLARY , FRONTAL ,ETHMOID AND RIGHT SPHENOID SINUSITIS


    WITH POLYP/ RETENTION CYST IN LEFT MAXILLARY SINUS .

    Clinical correlation is necessary.
