LOW DOSE CT REPORT - PARANASAL SINUSES


TECHNIQUE:Sequential scans of paranasal sinuses were done in both coronal and axial planes without
intravenous contrast.

OBSERVATION:
The frontal sinus is normal on both sides. Frontal recess is patent on both sides.
Right maxillary sinus shows moderate mucosal thickening . Osteomeatal unit is
obliterated by mucosal thickening .
Left maxillary sinus show some mucosal polyp measuring 1.3 x 1.1 cm . Osteomeatal unit
is patent.
The ethmoidal cells shows mild mucosal thickening.
Mild mucosal thickening noted in right sphenoid sinus with obliteration of the spheno-
ethmoid recess bilaterally by the same .
Pneumatisation of right anterior clinoid process.
No evidence of osteitis, bone sclerosis or bone erosion is visualized.
Minimal deviation of nasal septum towards right side.
Left lamellar concha noted.
The nasopharynx is normal.
Mastoid air cells are normal. No evidence of soft tissue density in both middle ears.
No adenoid hypertrophy.
IMPRESSION:
 Mucosal thickening in right maxillary, ethmoid and right sphenoid sinuses with
obliteration of the pancreas as described.
 Left maxillary sinus polyp.
 Minimal deviation of nasal septum towards right side.
