FEELING COMFORTABLE

Asalam alakum Karam. I have noticed you beginning to interact

with the other children. This shows me that you have settled
well into the centre and are making new friends.

Belonging, Mana Whenua: Children and their families experience

an environment where they know they have a place.

Yesterday while in the sandpit I watched as you took part in

making a road with Yassir and Rhama. Together with your friends
you took turns filling up the dump truck using the digger and the
spades, then transporting the truck to another area in the
sandpit where you were constructing a road.

Contribution/Mana Tangata: Children experience an environment

where they are encouraged to learn with and alongside others.

After morning tea today I noticed you went straight over to

where your brother, Mohammad, Rayan and Khalid were playing
with the cars and you asked them if you could join in. Of course
they said yes and I was so happy that you asked to play rather
than push the toys around on your own.

Belonging/Mana Whenua: Children and their families experience

an environment where they know the limits and boundaries of
acceptable behaviour.

WHAT NEXT: Karam we will continue to support you as you

become more familiar with the environment of An-nur. Your
individual learning goal for the coming weeks is
Communication/Mana Atua. Children experience an environment
where they develop verbal communication skills for a range of
purposes.

Our observations over this first month tell us that you are a
happy, well settled young boy. Your settling process was probably
made easier with the fact your mum stayed with you and is now on
our relievers list. September 2017 T. Lynda
