A RESOLUTION REQUESTING PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA

DUTERTE, PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES, TO
ISSUE AN EXECUTIVE ORDER (E.O) INCREASING THE TRAVEL
ALLOWANCE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND
PERSONNEL FROM EIGHT HUNDRED (800.00) PESOS TO TWO
THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED PESOS (P2, 5000.00) AMENDING FOR
THE PURPOSE EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 298 DATED MARCH 23, 2004
ISSUED BY THE THEN PRESIDENT GLORIA MACAPAGAL ARROYO

WHEREAS, the clamor of insufficiency of travel allowance of local government officials

and personnel has reached the concern of the August body as the Eight Hundred Pesos (P 800.00)
travel allowance was made effective on March 23, 2004 by virtue of Executive Order No. 298
issued by the then Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo;
 WHEREAS, the rates provided under the Executive Order are no longer fair and equitable
in view of the increasing cost of goods and services, not to mention the span of 13 years from the
time it was issued;

WHEREAS, there is a need to review and modify the rates to conform to changing time;

WHEREFORE, on motion of Hon. Cyrus E. Torrea, duly seconded by Hon. Joseph Leo
E. Recinto, it was-

RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to request His Excellency Rodrigo Roa Duterte,

President of the Republic of the Philippines, to issue an Executive Order (E.O.) increasing the
Travel Allowance of local government officials and personnel from Eight Hundred Pesos
(P 800.00) to Two Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P 2, 500.00) amending for the purpose
Executive Order No. 298 dated March 23, 2004 issued by the then President Gloria Macapagal
Arroyo;

RESOLVED FURTHER, to furnish copies of this resolution to His Excellency Rodrigo

Roa Duterte, President of the Republic of the Philippines and all agencies concerned for their
information.
