RESOLUTION SEEKING PERMISSION FROM THE PRINCIPAL OF MERCEDES

NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, DR. RONILO M. MARTINEZ, THE USE OF CLASSROOM
BUILDING LOCATED AT THE FURTHEST BACK PORTION OF THE SCHOOL TO BE
TEMPORARILY CONVERTED INTO AN ISOLATION FACILITY FOR THOSE
LOCALLY STRANDED INDIVIDUALS (LSI) WHO ARE FROM MERCEDES.

WHEREAS, due to the influx of returning Locally Stranded Individuals (LSI) and Overseas
Filipino Workers, the Presiding Officer, Hon. Arturo N. Alejandro said that barangay Mercedes do
not have any isolation facility to cater these daily arrivals, but one in particular, Mercedes National
High School has been identified to be utilized as a makeshift isolation facility;

WHEREAS, the council members strongly supports the idea as it is situated distance away from
populated areas which will help contain the spread of COVID-19, as well as accommodate the
incoming LSIs and OFWs for their quarantine period, and to keep the general public healthy, safe
and secure.

NOW THEREFORE after due deliberation and consideration on the matter on motion of SB
Member Hon. Rene C. Ramos and duly seconded by SB Member Hon. Romeo N. Fayluga, it was,

RESOLVED, THEREFORE, as it is hereby resolved, to seek permission from the principal of
Mercedes National High School, Dr. Ronilo M. Martinez, the use of classroom building located at
the furthest back portion of the school to be temporarily converted into an isolation facility for those
Locally Stranded Individuals (LSI) who are from Mercedes.

RESOLVED, FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be furnished to concerned offices for their
guidance and information.

ADOPTED, this 7th day of August, 2020, during the 47 th Regular Session of the Sangguniang
Barangay of Mercedes held at the Barangay Hall of Mercedes, Zamboanga City, Philippines.
