Field Day Reminder


School Calendar Honaunau Elementary is officially registered as a Blue Zones School
Oct 4 Field Day Event -Blue Zone Project Therefore we would like to begin by promoting healthy practices. The
Oct 6 Deposit Day - 7:15 am in A+ Room first event will be to participate in the International Walk to School Day.
Oct 9 - 13 No School - Fall Break This is a Health and Wellness event that will take place on our campus
Oct 25 SCC Meeting 4:15 pm in Library on Wed October 4 from 8:00 am - 9:30 am. This is NOT about students
walking to school since we DO NOT have a SAFE ROUTE to our school.
Nov 6 - 9 Parent/Teacher Conferences
This event is like our Field Day Olympics.
Nov 6 Field Trip to Aloha Theatre K - 5 Parents are encouraged to attend! If you are not able to attend and
would like to show your support, you may walk on the field from 7:15 -
7:45 am. Please check in at the office.
**PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL IN RUNNING/TENNIS
Parent Teacher Conference Reminder SHOES**
Parent Teacher Conferences will be the week of
November 6-9. Teachers will be sending home Stations: 15 minute rotations
available time slots shortly. School will end at 1:00 *Laps around the field
pm Monday - Thursday that week. There is no *Cross Fit and Jump Rope station
school on Friday as it is Veteran's Day. Please mark *Obstacle Course
your calendar. *Fitness Test (P Kim)
If you have a specific date/time within that week that *Healthy Alternative Food and Beverage booth

This a great time to expose your child to new books Uniform & Attendance Incentive has begun!
and help increase their excitement for reading. As you know we have a uniform policy at our school, and we would like to
achieve 100% participation. So beginning the month of October we will
introduce an incentive program based on GLO Outcomes. GLO #1- Self
Vision Screening Reminder Directed Learner and GLO #2- Community Contributor.
The Hawaii Optometric Association with GLO #1- Student will ensure that they come to school everyday
support of the Rotary Club of Kona GLO #2- student will take the initiative to wear their uniform to school
