government:
Overview:
Japans type of government is best
described as democracy in the
form of a constitutional monarchy;
very similar to what the UK
currently has. It was based off of
Japans constitution, which was
enacted after the second world war
on May 3, 1947.

Emperor:
The current emperor of Japan is
Akihito, who rose to power after
the death of his father, Emperor
Shwa, and has been in power
since 1989. Emperors in Japan Japans government shares a lot in common with the
