BACKGROUND
Japan is run by the emperor who then appoints the
Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of the Supreme
Court. Before the war the Japanese emperor did not
chose the Prime Minister or the Chief Justice of the
Supreme.
DIET
The national diet has the House of Representatives as
well as the House of Counselors. It has the most state
power including being able to make the different laws.

THE START OF THE
CONSTITUTION
It was put into effect as of 1946 and then
was used in 1947. It took over the and
changed from the Meiji Constitution. The
two differences are the sovereignty as
well as keeping Japan peaceful.
JAPANS GOVERNMENT
Japans Government is a constitutional
monarchy with the Emperor being limited
to ceremonial role. It is similar to other
government where there are three
branches which are judicial, legislative and
executive.
