1.0 OBJECTIVES

This method statement deals with the installation of Lighting


control Panel Prior to commencing installation, all materials must
conform to Approved material submittals.

The purpose of this document is to define the procedure for the


above-mentioned work the implementation of correct practices for
installing of Lighting control Panel through the general procedure
contained herein.

1.1 LOCATION & SCOPE OF WORK

The installation of Lighting control Panel at Nas Arena


Multipurpose Hall (Arena and Utility) project.

1.2 RESPONSIBILITIES

1.2.1) All works associated with above-mentioned project limited


to the installation of Lighting control Panel will be the
responsibilities of TGEM under supervision of Eaton as per
Contract.

TGEM responsibilities for particular personnel are as follows:

1.2.2.1) Senior Project Manager will have the overall responsibility of the
Project.

1.2.2.2) The Planning Engineer will be responsible for the onward


Planning requirements associated with the works and the
Submission of all related project Plans to main contractor.

1.2.2.3) The project Co-ordinator will be responsible for the coordination


aspect of works.

1.2.2.4) The Project engineer will have the responsibility of technical


aspect and overall execution of work at site.

1.2.2.5) The safety officer will be responsible for the safety aspects of
works.

1.2.2.6) The site engineer / supervisor will be in-charge for the execution
of work on site.

1.2.2.7) The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for the quality control
and verification of installed material including documentation.

1.3 MATERIAL HANDLING AND STORAGE AT SITE

1.3.1) Lighting control Panel and equipments shall be carefully off-


loaded at site using necessary manpower, in such a way that no
damage is caused to Lighting control Panel and equipments.

1.3.2) Material will be inspected at off loading point for any physical
damage and completeness and shall offered for consultant material
inspection at site.

1.3.3) Materials shall be stored in a place free of water and adequately


covered to avoid any kind of damages.

1.3.4) Proper protection should be given to the material by means of


covering the material with Tarpaulin sheet etc.

1.3.5) Lighting control Panel and equipments shall be transported to the


work place.

1.3.6) On receipt of the material at site, Site Engineer shall inspect the
material in accordance with Approved MAR, specification and
Delivery Note and recorded in the MVR form and may be offered
to the Consultant for approval

1.4 COORDINATION WITH OTHER SERVICES

Trans Gulf Engineer and supervisor shall co-ordinate regarding the


location of installation i.e. clearances with other services, like coordinate
with civil contractor for completion of structural works, and make sure
installed services are coordinated with other services and complied as per
approved drawings, local regulations and manufacturer recommendation.

1.5 TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

Electrician hand Tools, PPE, Measuring tape, Multi meter.

1.6. PREPARATION & PRE INSTALLATION WORK

1.6.1) The installation of Lighting control Panel installation will be


carried out strictly in accordance with this document /
specifications / approved material submittal/approved shop
drawings / approved load schedule & local regulations .

1.6.2) All materials and documentation relevant to a particular section of


works shall be checked by project engineer prior to the
commencement of work ensuring that these are the correct type as
reviewed by the consultant /client engineer.

1.6.3) Prior to commencement of Lighting control Panel installation


works, areas and access shall be checked and confirmed by safety
officer, that they are in a suitable Condition for installation works.

1.6.4) All Lighting control Panel shall be new / unused, as required


configuration is indicated in the approved drawings and load
schedule.

1.6.5) Materials shall be moved to the work place in safe manner and
shall not block access/ egress from the site.

1.6.6 ) Make sure delivered Lighting control Panel are complied with
approved make, and Lighting control panel system manufactured
identification and standards are marked

1.6.7) Make sure the configuration of delivered Lighting control Panels is


accordance with drawing and the authority regulations.

1.6.8) Make sure prior to installation, deliver Lighting control Panels are
properly packaged in factory packed or fabricated containers

1.6.9) Make sure LCP are stored in a dry area, and protect from
weather,fumes, water, debris, etc.

1.6.10) Care shall be taken to ensure that no other foreign material

ingress to the installed Lighting control Panel , and make sure
installed services are sealed, covered and protected to avoid any
damage during civil works.

1.7. SEQUENCE OF INSTALLATION WORKS

1.7.1) Ensure the Lighting Control panel to be neat & clean.


1.7.2) Check the panel for any exterior damages.
1.7.3) Compare the drawing schedule of the Lighting Control panel with
approver details.
1.7.4) Check the panel configuration and arrangement of components and
wiring.
1.7.5) Temporary protection is in place for floor penetration if applicable.
1.7.6) Adequate temporary lighting to be provided.
1.7.7) Temporary power source is available in the locality and protection
setting is correct.
1.7.8) Setting out dimensions shall be marked out on the floor in
accordance with the approved coordinated equipment location
drawing.
1.7.9) Ensure the data cabling is complete and properly marked by using
ferrules to identify ends.
1.7.10) Check the tightness of the cable terminations.
1.7.11) Earthling of components and related connections.
1.7.12) Check Cable ends are properly identified.
1.7.13) Terminate the data cable into the Lighting control device, as per
the specified colour codes.
1.7.14) Complete panel shall be thoroughly vacuumed to remove any
foreign matter.
1.7.15) All incoming and outgoing feeder cables and wires will be
terminated as per the specification requirements.
1.7.16) From DB/ field to LCP internal wiring carried out during
production based on latest load schedule.
1.7.17) Product wise installation details are provided in the submittal.

1.8 INSPECTION AND TESTING


1.8.1) Once the above is completed, the pre Inspection shall be carried
out by ANCC/ TGEM, EATON (Lighting control system manufacture)
after pre-inspection documentations and Consultant Inspection to be offer
for approval.

1.9 SAFETY

1.9.1) All installation work will be undertaken in accordance with TGEM


Safety Plan.

1.9.2) All site personnel shall be provided with the necessary personal
protective measures such as head gear, safety boots& goggles and
shall be worn on site.

1.9.3) All site work activities will be kept in a clean and tidy condition.

1.9.4) Working area shall be barricaded during working time.

1.10 HOUSE KEEPING

1.10.1) After completion of installation works, the area involved will be


clear and clean from excess of materials.
