Program for Pollution Control, Evaluation, and Rating (PROPER)

2. Definition
- PROPER is an alternative instrument to control pollution based on the sustainable development
principle through environmental compliance and performance of company’s improvement in
environmental management through the introducing disincentive and incentive reputation by
disclosing environmental performance of industries to public and stakeholder.
- Conducted by Ministry of Environment

3. Assessment Criteria
- Compliance
Just to answer, “whether the company comply with
the environmental regulation or not?”. The
Assessment consist of environmental document and
the reporting (AMDAL & RPL/RKL), water pollution
controlling, air pollution controlling, B3 waste
management and environmental damage potential
(special for mining).
- Beyond Compliance
Beyond compliance criteria is more dynamic, adapted with the technology development, best
practices of environmental management, and global environmental issues.
