Sensitization Workshop on --------22 /02/2018

Background

Project Harar Ethiopia in collaboration with Afar RHB has a plan to introduce and
facilitate implementation of the regionally endorsed detailed targets and activities. The
detailed strategies can also help achieve the targets will be developed by each woreda health
office (responsible bodies). The sensitization workshop is therefore designed to take place
for one day. It engages all the RHB appropriate office heads, Zones and woreda health offices
heads. The Dubti hospital CEO as well as the Matron (who have been already engaged in
establishing mother support groups during the first mission held in January, 2018 will also be
the stakeholders including partner organization for both the RHB and PHE

The objective /purpose of this sensitization workshop is to:

 Launch the PHE Project Agreement on “Addressing Developmental Barriers to Children

born with Congenital Anomalies
 Introduce the PHE 3 years project in Afar through comic relief ( for cases with cleft and
severe facial disfigurement )
 Plan the target beneficiaries per each woreda
 Develop appropriate strategies per each woreda for
a. Prevention,
b. Case identification
c. Linking the clients for treatment
d. Referral follow up
e. Rehabilitation

 Expected outcome
o One page plan for targets and strategies, activities
o Finalized M&E tool per the project need
 Tentative schedule for the SWS
