INTRODUCTION
The Logistic Committee was required to oversee several factors prior and during the Beach
Cleaning event, held on the 15th March 2017 (Wednesday) from 8.00am to 5.00pm. Tasks
carried out by the committee are as follows:
➢ Arrangement of Required Materials for the Beach Cleaning
➢ Transportation
➢ Banner
➢ Data Collection
Basically, our logistic team consist of five of us. The team leader was Kalii Thevan and he
briefed us on the task that each of us have to do before, during and after the event. We from
the logistic team were responsible for the arrangements of required materials for the entire
day that has been used on the event day which was held on the 15th of March 2017. Thus,
the materials that were needed was gloves, mask and rubbish bag. There was a time when
we were planning on how to get those materials for our event and then there came one of
our group member Legastiswree Sagaran volunteered herself to sponsor for our event. We

also ensured that the quality of the materials were good enough especially the black plastic
bag so that there will not be any spillage when more load of trash has been stuffed into the
plastic bag and to look for any room for errors from our side. Later on, our team segregated
the plastic bags for each team. The trashes were placed accordingly to 3 plastic bags as it
was segregated accordingly to plastic, paper and glass. This is to make the work easier at
the end of the event. Once the plastic bags are full, we placed them aside and after the
event, we went and threw the plastic bags accordingly into the rubbish bin which was
placed there.
TRANSPORTATION
The logistic committee booked a bus from Manipal International University Nilai for the
Beach Cleaning for 36 people including volunteers. The president & the vice-president
were a good help in guiding us in booking this as it was a big part of the event. We had to
make few calls regarding the booking, we were put on hold few times. So, we just had a
discussion for an alternative way if our calls were not reciprocated just to be on the safe
side. Anyways, we did not need to carry out our plan B as our University gave us full
freedom to utilise our university’s bus. On 15th March 2017 we set up all group members
from MIU to Batu Empat, Port Dickson. On the way, the bus driver suddenly stopped the
bus at the side of the road without any reason and all our members panicked because he
did not inform anything to anyone. This shows the bus driver is irresponsible and not a safe
driver. Then, after few minutes he resumed the journey. All this delayed the time of our
arrival. Nevertheless, this did not stop us from carrying out activity on time. After
completing all our duties we took the same bus back to MIU. And this time we went back
without any hassle and had a safe journey.

BANNER
Banner is an important requirement in our projects because on the project day it help the
publics to recognize and the volunteers who worked to clean the beach. Banner was not in
the initial plan of our group project. Main committee members have put their effort to come
with this banner plan and have explained the need of the banner in the weekly meetings.
All the committee members assembled on 17th March 2017 around 10.00 am with
respective materials to draw and paint. First Munisha and Janani have drawn the whole
alphabets which is the alpha logo and the words like ‘squad’, ‘Beach’ and ‘cleaning’. Then
the paint was applied by Munisha and the other members. Our head of the project have
sponsored the white cloth and the painting materials. All the other committee member
where helping one and other to complete the paintings. We had also obtained two long
PVC pipes to aid the banner to be stand at a place without support. It was also our
president’s idea to use the white cloth as banner to avoid the usage of any materials which
is not environmental friendly. After the drawing and painting have done all the committee
members were required to place their hand paint on the white cloth to represent our unity
in working together to keep the beach and the environment clean. The banner was finally
done around 12.30pm. On the day of the project the volunteers and the committee members
helped to tie the banner with the PVC pipes. We made the banner stand on the sand and
have took a group picture before making our way to the beach to clean it with the respective
materials.

dietary concerns and allergies listed are shared with your chosen activity center so they can provide
proper meals for all of you. It is crucial that these forms are returned to us well before the project
so we can plan accordingly to meet your needs and expectations. We appreciate your assistance in
