INSTALLATION OF HVAC CONTROL PANEL

1.0 Purpose:

1.1 This is to define the installation of HVAC Control Panel used in this project

2.0 Scope:

2.1 This Installation & Inspection procedure is applicable to the installation of

HVAC Equipment control panels.

3.0 Material:

3.1 HVAC Control Panels used shall be as per the consultant approvals.

4.0 Applicable Location:

4.1 As per approved shop drawing

5.0 Responsibilities:

5.1 The Project Manager (PM) shall be responsible for the overall implementation
of the project quality plan, HSE plan and work instructions.
5.2 The Project Engineer is responsible to carry out detail Engineering and
preparation of shop drawings within the scope of contract project
specification.
5.3 Project engineer is responsible to co-ordinate and explain the works to be
carried out to the supervisors.
5.4 QA/QC is responsible for monitoring and controlling the quality work as per
specification/approved drawings.
5.5 The Project engineer is responsible to ensure the materials are as per approved
material submittal.
5.6 Project engineer/Site Engineer/Supervisor will inspect the equipment as per
manufacture’s recommendation prior to installation and are responsible for the
installation for the equipment as per approved drawings.
5.7 Supervisor/Storekeeper will inspect for any damage during shipping, handling
and storage.
5.8 Storekeeper will review the documents and verify the items with the packing
list.
5.9 Storekeeper is responsible for proper storage as per site requirement.

6.0 Safety:
6.1 Safety Officer will ensure the appropriate safety precautions to avoid any
unexpected events in protection, storage and handling of the material.
6.2 All safety precautions shall be followed as per the established Project safety
plan during the installation of services.
6.3 Proper scaffolding certified by Safety Engineer, safety harness shall be used
and secured, if required.
6.4 Dust masks, goggles and gloves shall be worn while doing cleaning and
chipping.
6.5 Work area shall be maintained neat and clean.

7.0 References:

7.1 Approved shop drawing.

7.2 Approved material submittal.
7.3 Contract drawings as applicable.
7.4 Project specification.
7.5 Manufacturer’s recommendations as applicable.

8.0 Notification of Inspection

8.1 Bilt shall notify the Consultant with relevant transmittal form for all material
inspection.
8.2 Bilt shall notify the consultant with relevant transmittal form for all MEP
installation.

9.0 Witness Inspection/Check:-

9.1 Bilt will follow the approved check list/inspection checklist test plan for
witnessing inspection/check, as applicable.

10.0 Installation Procedure:

The following stages are applicable for the installation of HVAC Control panel.

10.1 Preparation for Installation of HVAC Control panel

10.1.1 Before commencement of any HVAC control panel installation the

following checks are required to be carried out.
10.1.2 Check the location where you install the control panel is neat, clean and
dry

10.1.3 If wall mounted type panel, check the wall has been painted where you
want to install the control panel.
10.1.4 Check and confirm there is no obstruction to access the control panel.
10.1.5 Check and confirm there is no water line crossing above the control
panel.
10.1.6 Check the control panel as per approved submittal.

10.2 Installation of HVAC Control Panel:

Installation to be as per the relevant section of the contract specification

10.2.1 Location to be marked as per the shop drawing.

10.2.2 Remove the base plate from the control panel.
10.2.3 Fix the empty enclosure on the wall/frame with raw bolt/bolt & nut.
10.2.4 Check the enclosure fixed in level by using the sprit level.
10.2.5 Re-fix the base plate inside the enclosure.
10.2.6 Check the earth wire connected with door and base plate.
10.2.7 Check all the terminals are tight.
10.2.8 Lock the control panel door and keep the key in safe custody.
10.2.9 Cover the control panel with polythene sheet until the panel is powered
up.

11.0 Records:

Prepare work inspection request (WIR) and have them approved by Consultant.
